Les gars, CH let us know that he went to ground early, so please don't be afraid to pick up the puck, so to speak ... that was probably the worst game I've seen as far as bounces going against us, in quite a few years ... it reminded me of, dare I say, the Houle years, as far as bad luck goes ... the Canucks were "Johnny-on" tonight ... they cashed in on their opportunities ... stuff happens ,,, anyone know how Prust is doing ... not Beaulieu's best game, though he's not the reason we lost ... as an aside Coronas were good and I lost a total of $15 bucks at the slots ... like the game, itself, stuff happens ...
Cheers.

shoulda put some money on the Nucks, Dis . . . win-win. if (as they did) the Nucks win, you're sad for the Habs but happy for the fatter wallet, and if (as they didn't) the Habs win, you're happy for the Habs and don't care about the wallet. easy for me to say . . . not my money 9-0 to begin the season 99-1 of course now) . . . not too shabby. only Cranky and Douper had us winning more than 8 (10). on to Thursday . . .

Didn't see the game, so I can't really comment. From the boys on the radio this morning it sounds like the 4th line was once again very good, whereas the second line not so much. Which brings up an interesting dilemma I suppose; assuming they want to make lineup changes (which may not actually be the case), who do you bring out to bring Byron in? Doesn't seem fair to take somebody from the fourth line out, when they've been perhaps the most consistent line all season, but it also doesn't seem right to put Byron on say the second line. Do you move DSP up there, potentially wrecking two lines? Or do you assume that Byron can do the job on the fourth line just as well, and that line won't miss a beat? And do you bring in Pateryn in place of Gilbert? They're playing the Oilers next, so it might not be the best matchup for a guy like Pateryn to play his first game. He might be better suited for Calgary the day after. Be interesting to see what happens now.

2 unfortunate early bounces...and couldn't recover. Miller, I presume, was also a lot sharper than Johnson and Bernier...which made a comeback all the more improbable.
Games like that happen.
That said, the Oilers and Flames have always played us hard in their buildings, regardless of their records. Gotta get the first goal and take it to them.

I was watching the broadcast last night and the crew brought up the amount of shots given up by the Habs in the last few games ... I couldn't hear anything (the casino was busy) but the title on the screen said "Montreal shooting gallery" ... I guess the guys have been giving up a lot of shots of late ...
Cheers.

Having a look at the box scores, last night's shots-against total (28) was acceptable given the previous 3 games. The Blues put 38 on Price. The Sabres got 36 on Condon. The Leafs with 52 on Price.

DD with 3 minutes more ice time than Chucky last night. Again I have to ask, just which is the 2nd line? That seems to be a sizeable difference, which may or may not have been determined by matchups.
One thing I might do is flip Eller and Fleischmann. It doesn't get a new player into the mix, but I'm curious as to whether the two players styles might work better on the other line.

TOI: 17:36, Beaulieu 18:19, PK 19:08, Gilbert 19:29, Markov 22:04, Emelin 23:24, Petry I was at the game and was really pumped to see PK work his magic. I was very disappointed. Not saying he played poorly, although made some bad choices and bobbled the puck and fell at one point. But there was just nothing. He was as listless as I've ever seen him. So I'm not surprised at the diminished ice time. He wasn't the only one who seemed uninterested. The best player I thought was DD. Chuck had some good moves but also struggled. Not making excuses but boy did the puck not bounce our way. The first goal Carey should have caught but for it to sit there in the crease was very weird. Beau with a picture perfect deflection on the own goal. Semin with the kick in as well. And Vabata's goal had some pretty fortunate bounces to. Then we hit some posts and had an identical puck sitting behind Miller in the crease but no one there. Guess that's how streaks work and why they are difficult to maintain. can;t play well every game and bounces don't always go your way. Last note: Peteryn did the pre-skate warmup but I did not see Tinordi.

Too many mirrors, not enough lunch pails.
This is two shooting gallaries and a loss in a row. Not worried....but concerned.

DD was our best player by far. It seemed like they weren't prepared for the Canucks' speed in the first period, as they were always in the right place at the right time and we were always 2 steps behind.
