Don't know if anyone caught this today but 10,000 fans at the Liverpool soccer match today walked off the field at the 77th minute chanting "You greedy bastards, enough is enough" in protest of the increase in some ticket prices from 59£ to 77£ It got me thinking about why something like that is never done here, where we are lierally gouged for a piss poor product. Do you think it would ever happen? It would be a great visual for sure. www.thescore.com/news/953910

And that's with their team leading 2-nil…
The paying customers have only so much cash for sporting events….they'd like it well-spent….

Saw this too. They were lucky. Didn't see Liverpool blow their 2-0 lead in the last 10 minutes.
Don't think it would happen here. People may not show up instead. But I think the impact of an orchestrated walkout is more dramatics.

And that's with their team leading 2-nil… The paying customers have only so much cash for sporting events….they'd like it well-spent…. Yup... but it's a working class fan base. The boys on TSN had a great commentary as well, saying that the Bayern Munich owner is against raising prices because in the end it only adds a few million in their pockets which is pennnies to them... but to fans it's massive so why screw them? This is a club that is one of the most succesful in the world and even they realize how immoral it is to gouge your fans dry.

A staged walkout, or no show, would have likely had a significant impact this weekend. Superbowl double-header weekend is a fairly big tradition for the club. Had they played to nationally televised games in front of empty seats it would have been a huge statement.
