Scrivens secured the single...and had a perfect shoot-out. Solid 2-game performance from him. Our first 2-game W streak since November.
Ghetto with the winner.
A feel-good weekend for the boys....

That was classic MT tactical game: no structure, multiple give aways, weak PP, and rely on a hot goalie to save your bacon. Classic. Give the guy an extension!

They may not have had the puck a lot, but I thought the Habs had excellent defensive coverage in OT ... the chances they had in OT were quality ones ... great games by Ben Scrivens and PK Subban ... add the captain in there, too ... edit: nice goal in the shootout by Sven Andrighetto ...
Cheers.

It wasn't pretty, but we've been let down by goaltending so much this season it's nice to see Ben get a bit of redemption.

After watching the highlights, sorry was busy watching my Broncos win baby, I have one question. How did that Canes player not get a penalty either time he ran over the goalie?

Scivens probably should have got a penalty on one occasion as he moves right into the Cane. But I agree, seems it was open season . But he plays the puck much better than Condon who i think is horrible with the puck and confuses the D. Just wish he'd stay in his crease.

Before anyone gets too carried away with this weekend. The Oilers were thumped today by the Isles and the Canes missed numerous open nets and faced a hot Scirvens. Last 7 games against non-playoff teams we were 3 and 4. Seems all this weekend did was upset the needed 'tank job'. Let's see how we do against the Bolts. But, it's fair to say we will be sellers in the next few weeks. Sure hope there are some buyers for the garbage we'll be selling!

After watching the highlights, sorry was busy watching my Broncos win baby, Could not watch the 2nd half. Such an ugly game. Reminded me of the Ravens win with Dilfer at QB.

After watching the highlights, sorry was busy watching my Broncos win baby, Could not watch the 2nd half. Such an ugly game. Reminded me of the Ravens win with Dilfer at QB. Ugly on offense, but Wade Phillips' schemes and the Broncos execution was excellent. The Panthers offense put on clinics in its previous 2 games. Denver nullified and frustrated them. All Oher could do to slow down Miller and Ware was to false start. I'm not a big fan of Kubiak's offense. About the only thing they accomplished on offense was using up some clock. Their first drive, they threw to Daniels for a really nice gain. Never went back to him the whole game. Given that the Panthers pass rush comes from the middle of the field, Daniels was open several times throughout. Not going back to him falls on Kubiak's play calling.

While I think the Canes deserved a better fate, Cam Ward himself had to make some really good saves. I think the outcome--a shootout--is appropriate in this case.

And we can thank Eric Staal for missing a couple of gaping opportunities. He didn't believe it himself that he missed. Typical Therrien win, somehow the puck stays out just enough and we manage to get one goal.
That's not going to work against good teams having an average game. Then again I keep saying that and except for the last couple of months, MT seems to dodge bullets. (A least until we hit the playoffs).
I think if the team goes .500 the rest of the way, he's saved his job. Too bad.
