Very interested in seeing how the "New Habs" handle a team like Chicago!

It seems like a really fast game when we play the Hawks... the boys have to come out firing and not wait for the 3rd period or else they'll be toast.

Dis, great GDT as always. Nice pic of the Golden Jet pummeling! Pretty sure that is Claude Provost on the left which would make sense as he was often tasked with checking Hull. It sure as heck ain't Claude Larose.
Hawks ain't the team they use to be. Relying a lot on goaltending this year. Altho Kane seems to be waking up.

I have Claude Larose featured in another thread later this month and it's possible I was working on both GDTs that evening ... doing a bit more research on this photo and I found that Bobby Hull actually won the Lady Byng Trophy that year ... thanks again ... Cheers.

I guessed right, it's Emelin. Discussion starts with asking if Julien has convos with Bergevin if a veteran is underperforming, especially a well paid veteran. Dreger says an experience coach like Julien would have full authority, but would have a 'healthy' respect for Bergevin's hockey knowledge and conversations would likely have taken place at various times. Regardless, it looks like Emelin is in the line-up again. I'm going to predict that he has a significant impact on tonight's outcome. (Yup, playing both sides )

(Yup, playing both sides ) Emelin has been having a significant impact on all games he has played in of late. His corsi numbers when he is on the ice have been downright frightening. And don't even get me started on his performance against our own "eye test". I just hope he can get his game back on track, because he is killing whomever is his partner these days. His play is also hurting his expansion draft value or any ability for Berg to move that contract in the off season.

The early leader to take on the title of biggest scapegoat now that MT and DD have moved on.
Yes, I am piling on a bit too, but his play has been dreadful.

If we could make a few passes we might get one past Crawford.

Habs look nervous to start the game. Hawks haven't had to work hard to recover pucks as Montreal is turning it over too easily. The last shift was a little better and hopefully the jitters will disappear as the game wears on. Have to make them work for everything. No easy stuff.

I guess in the long run, it'll be good to have a clear decision about Emelin, so we can get both Beaulieu and Davidson into the line-up. Should be stronger team, then.
