You know what's coming first star of the game canadiens number 38 [shadow=red,left,300]JAN BULIS !!!!![/shadow]
great to see the team outshoot the panthers that's 2 straight games over 30 shots on goal and 2 straight outshooting the opposition.
First big win for Julien this team is on the coaching change high i'm hoping the consistencies of the last 2 games continue for a long long long time.

Not teabags at all for a guy who's getting his feet wet. 3 out of 4 points, 2 comebacks and a total of 73 shots on goal in his first two games.
And to think that they'll start practicing his system this Friday, after he's had three games to evaluate what the hell he's got (sorry all you Pagliaro fans).
I like this young fella. I think he'll do just fine once he's got the house in order.

I thought we would never make it when they scored the 2nd one ...
Pretty good game over all. I loved the way Julien used his people. Have nothing to say against Brisebois and Traverse. First time since A LOT of games. What's good is that everyone is scoring. Petrov, Bulis and well Markov ... What a game by Markov. He'll flourish even more under CJ.
Just gotta enjoy what's happening right now. Is it emotion or just a good system ... mix of both ?

Seriously, laugh if you wish, I really felt that we would win even when it was 2-1. The guys seem to be a lot calmer, no meltdowns, just on a mission. My first CJ game has made me a believer.

Well I thought we played a pretty good game ... things just got bad for us ... for no reasons. Then ... those 2 goals happened. And wow .... We just got what we deserved. Last year Theo would have got a 3-1 or 3-0 win. He got the second star(I think) but it just wasn't such a good game compared to what I believe he can do.

GO HABS GO !!!

I was worried for a while. The Panthers did a good job of controlling the tempo during most of the second half of the game. I loved the execution on the final faceoff, in the Habs zone.

2 things we need to improve on
-PK
-PP
and get rid of Traverse
Substract....Audette, Traverse and Dackell...add big tough left D, more toughness up front...and we are looking good IMO

I loved the execution on the final faceoff, in the Habs zone. It is so obvious to go with Perreault in the last minutes ... MT would have used Lindsay had they(MT and Lindsay) been there tonight .. ( sorry about the cheapshot Therrien lovers )

And to boot, I think Audette was benched in the 3rd .. 2 periods of hockey and CJ has realized this turd is a waste of space.
I LOVE CJ already.

Nice win for the good guys. It's nice to see the team give a 60 minute effort. Even if they didn't pull out the win, I really like what I'm seeing from CJ. He makes adjustments on the fly. If a line doesn't work, he won't hesitate to make changes. You can almost see the wheels turning during the line changes and adjustments. There is still plenty of room for improvement, especially on line changes on the fly..... still caught on bad changes too much for my liking. The youngsters are playing, the shots for/against are respectable. They are no longer being outcoached on a consistent basis. Things are definitely looking up. IMHO we have the right guy behind the bench when the farm produces more quality NHLers in the near future.

If MT uses Perreault in game 4 of Carolina series with a few seconds to go instead of Juneau...who knows what happens..
you gotta use the best faceoff man in the league in that situation. I loved the way they set that play up. Win the draw, Q banks it off the glass, Zed picks it up and dumps down the ice and chases with his speed...

Now without trying to beat a dead horse, its easy to see how important Yanic is to this team. CJ had used him a lot on draws in the D-zone throught the match.

We have 3 lines going right now...just need to complete that 4th line...Audette is not the answer at this point... and we need Souray back or another big tough left D !! Traverse at the end is scary..

I heard on the team 1200 in Ottawa that they though Souray was gone for the season. Chris stevenson said that the reason why the Habs have done so badly this season was that Carbo was no longer there. MT had Carbo telling him what to do last season and he didn't this year. Pretty accurate observation if you ask me. Stevenson also said Souray's injury was huge and that he was our best D-man last year.

Good game but i agree with Marc ,Audette has to go if you cant trade him release him and make give him a buyout deal.trading him will not get any easier with time it will be harder,i dont see him making any marked improvements and Traverse has to go or sit and be our 7tn Dman ,only used because of injuries and only short injuries!Need a big winger(maybe give ward a shot)and a big Dman with toughness,i have to say Petrov must have hated therrien because he looks like a different player !

I wouldn't worry too much about Traverse's ice time. I expect we'll see Dykhuis in Tampa. After a game or two Julien will make the call between the two of them.
Credit where credit is due: if Perreault doesn't take that left d-man into the boards then there's no breakaway for Petrov and no opening goal. Nice to see.
Czerkawski had a number of really fine shifts, not to mention scoring chances.
Koivu had a shift in the first period that looked super human. He was everywhere.
In general, the transition was crisper and the pressure in the neutral zone was more frequent and sustained. The energy was also there for most of the game. I didn't like the fourth line much but the fact that they got over 10 minutes shows Julien is serious about spreading around the ice time.
I thought they deserved every bit of the two points.

The only thing I didn't like about this game was the removal of Hossa from the top line in the later stages. Best I can figure, CJ wanted to have two centres out there in case Koivu got waved out of the faceoff circle.
He's very obviously a bit of a strategist, and uses the tools at hand. The best faceoff man in the league isn't sitting on the bench for an important draw, our hotshot young offensive defenceman isn't sitting on the bench during powerplays. I really do like what I'm seeing thus far.

Hossa was not removed from the top line IMO.He will be back next game with Koivu and Zed
Julien just wanted a little more experience out there once the going got tough. He put Gilmour... a great veteran on the line..
btw we are back in a playoff spot it looks like
Bolts leading Sens 3-1 though..come on Sens
