Did someone mention beer? No, no, ... I mean ..... REAL BEER! Too bad I'm in Kingston or else I'd be joining you. However, that Kingston door is open to any time you're in town. Cheers with a bottle of Moosehead lager.

Those who like it, like it a lot. Makes me want to throw Barrett's Privateer on the CD player.

I have broader expectations. Alright, I'll get you a fat cigar. By "real beer" I meant non-domestic. Double Diamond, Stella Artois and a whole host of others. Don't get technical, some are ales, bitters and malts.

The game ain't over until the fat cigar singes. I thought you might have been referring to the produce of our better domestic microbreweries.

hey Habitual Fan, I'm from NS, but I'm leaving for Tdot tomorrow ;D I'm from NS, live in NS, and hope to find a job in NS. Beer ranking: 1) Keith's 2) Corona 3) Kokanee The latter just started selling here. Not bad at all. Oland's is another Maritime IPA. The Oland family owns Keith's. Not a big fan of Moosehead beer, but I love the team.

After Montreal I'll be spending a week in Moncton (less a couple of days on PEI). I'll be in Riverview. Is the Cosmo still there? Green Lantern? Ziggy's?

The Lantern is now known as the Rockin Rodeo and Ziggy's is now a Cora's Breakfast restaurant. A good place to go is Voodoo night club on Mountain Rd., Rockin Rodeo is also a happening spot, but only on certain nights. I haven't been there in a while, but if it hasn't changed, Thursday and Saturday are the days to go. Nothing happening anywhere until at least 10:30pm. Hope you enjoy your stay! THF

I'll be accompanying Enzo to as many Kingston Frontenacs games as possible just to see his son play. We'll get together before that though CV. Cheers.

The Oland family owns Keith's. Not a big fan of Moosehead beer, but I love the team. My whole family is from Yarmouth, Comeauville area except my sister who was born in Fredriction and myself who was born in New Westminster, BC. My beer preferences; 1) Moosehead Lager (not the ale) 2) Alexander Keiths (preferably cold and in cans) 3) Scooner (just remember it going down well) Lots of great hockey down east. Highschool games drew big crowds in the 70's and 80's. Excellent collegate hockey as well. The Voyageurs seemed to be a fixture until they moved. Shame. I saw Ron Annear (1984 draft, 12th round, 199 overall) play for UPEI when I lived in Charlottetown. Too bad he never made, but understandable at the time. The Panthers were the hottest ticket on the island at the time as well. Cheers.

Speaking of beer, the Brew Pub in Kingston makes their own beer...mmmmmmm. I was also in Victoria in March and had a microbrew that is the best beer I've ever had. It's made by a company called Shaftebury and it's called Winter Solstice. Very limited run and they also make a summer solstice which I'm told is also amazing.

One of my favourite spots here in the Big Smoke was the late, lamented Beer Street pub which was owned, operated and supplied by the Granite Brewery in North Toronto (offspring of the Halifax original).
Best Bitter, Best Bitter Special (dry-hopped), Keefe's Irish Stout, Ringwood Ale, Ringberry, Peculiar and IPA. Yummy!
Smokeless Joe's and C'est What? are two other excellent purveyors of fine suds in T-dot.
Back in my hometown, home of our Habs, Dieu du Ciel!, Le Sergent Recruteur, L'Amère à Boire, and Le Cheval Blanc are worthies of the artisanal craft.
McAuslan Oatmeal Stout, out of Montréal, has been recognized as one of the best stouts in the world.
Unibroue (owned by Robert Charlebois) produces magnificent award winning Belgian style beers.
But I digress...

my favourites, in no particular order: Leffe, Velvet, Harp, Beck's, Gosser. a special place in my heart has Karlovacko, the beer of my teenage days (we didn't have a law that prohibits the selling of alchohol to kids ;D) although the quality of that beer has significantly deteriorated over the years. or maybe I grew up and I actually started to care what I drink? R.
