With Torto gone, signing Prospal will be a walk in the park for them. Good move by the Bolts. Acquiring Vinny's favorite linesmate will certainly help in extending #4's contract.

I had wondered why this was done. Had not thought of the Lecavalier angle. ...as we saw last year in the Briere situation, every little details count when you want to entice a player to sign the dotted line. Having guys on board that can coax a player to sign is a real plus. TB traded Richards last year, Vinny's best buddy, and Prospal, Vinny's favorite linesmate... I'm certain these were moves that accounted negatively when trying to resign Viinny. "...we're dead last, we traded your friends, future is hazy... sign here please..."...

Well, it's not like Prospal has signed on the dotted line yet. We'll see if it works out for them.

So, If I'm right, that means Holmgren traded Picard and a 2nd rounder for a 7th rounder and a sniff of hope? Can't understand why he wasn't chosen executive of the year.
