They followed that up by acquiring Rolston's rights from the Wild. The Lightning are trying to pull a Philly and go from basement to contenders overnight. Looks like they'll have great depth up front, but won't go far unless they sort out their own end. Malone: 7 years / 31.5 M I guess that's the going rate for a second line winger coming off of 31 and 51 point seasons playing with two of the best centers in the world. Man do I ever hope this one backfires on them - and Malone is as overrated as I suspect he is.

Feaster is still such a dork to me. It's like his passion in life is to have the best forward line-up he can ice. Instead of looking to Campbell or Orpik, and patching up that ECHL defense he has, he loads up on forwards and keeps looking to add more. His only cup came when he had an average d and Khabiblin was playing like the barrier between east and west. Now he has an unproven Smith in goal and (generously) a defense with several holes in it. The Cup is still eons away from Tampa, but he's vying to beat out Holmgren. Has it escaped him that Philly only got to the 3rd round with a lot of luck and now there's no more aces in the hole, no rabbits to pull out of hats and a Cap space that's going to cause problems, so Philly is headed down again. I doubt they'll win their first round series after making the playoffs. Why oh why can't we deal with the guy? Make a trade with him Bob.

Koules & Barrie have jumped in as very hands on. I heard Damien Cox of the Toronto Star state that these two initiated the Richards trade, not Feaster.

Also heard that the new owners are trying to move Boyle. Well, that would only put them closer to a team that literally has to outscore their opponents.

Tampa almost has a full roster signed and they stand at only 42.5... They can sign a Stuart and a Streit and still have plenty of space to acquire a veteran backup goalie to help their new young goalie along...
I find them in pretty good shape.
Not sure why they feel they need Rolston though...

Not sure why they feel they need Rolston though... Rolston's a very versatile player, with great speed and a wicked shot. I would love to have him on the Habs. I'd take him over Hossa.

Fair enough. Then Bob should pick up the phone and call Koules and Barrie. The pickins should be even better. Still mind boggling though. Especially the thought that they're looking to move Boyle. I didn't like him much a few years ago, but that team is a lot better with him than without him. He plays with more heart than I thought and he's fairly well skilled all around. The new style of play in the league suits him well. Yeesh, if the Lightning sign Streit, they'll score 20% more goals and give up 30% more. Or, as is more likely they case, they'll play him up front ;D.
