I agree, it's worded funny. I think if you remove the emphasis on the word "signed" in the literal sense, it becomes clearer.

IMO this just raises the price paid by the Flyers by commiting to 7 years whether Pronger plays or not. I find it a curious deal for a team with cap problems.
