Carcillo for Halak maybe? At the draft? If we pull off the upset, big if, Halak's a big part of it. The further they go, the greater his value going into the draft. I think he's worth more than Carcillo right now. If the Habs trade Halak, I'd like to see him go to the other conference. Perhaps St. Louis might be interested in Halak + A. Kostitsyn for Backes - who is exactly the type of player Montreal needs on the top two lines IMO.

I think they've hitched their wagon to Mason . . . they won't want a goalie controversy.

I could be wrong, but according to www.nhlnumbers.com, Mason is 33 and unrestricted. I'm not sure if they have a future starter in their system, but if not they might be interested in Halak. AK 46 might be of interest to them if Kariya doesn't return.
