Getting back to what HFLA said, I have a hard time reading Eklund and principle in the same sentence, even if they are separated with a slash. More than that, what exactly is "a deal in principle"? Is it like buying a house in the UK, where I can make an offer, have it accepted, but just before I sign the papers someone ups the $ and I lose the house?

They call it getting gazunked, on eBay they call it sniping. All the same poop

He's been talking about a Phaneuf trade for weeks & I thought it wouldn't happen.

I wouldn't give him too much credit it's been talked about for quite some time especially as he struggled and the need for the Flames to get more scoring up front. The amount of dollars the Flames have tied up on the back end would signal some type of move eventually, you can now put the Leafs in that category. He however does have a following and desperate fans looking for any sort of hope for their team will eventually flock their. The only thing I don't like is the fact he throws out ever rumour reputable or not from every source and hopes something eventually sticks, thats where he loses credibility.

Eklund reminds me of Jim Cramer. He picks 30 stocks, one of them goes up and he says, "there, I told you so!" Both are obnoxious too!
