expensive rental. for that one I'd want a signing We're gonna need money to sign guys this summer. UFA for cap space. LA gets a mentor for Doughty, not that he really needs one it seems.

Toskala to Calgary for McElhiney. Why does Calgary make that move, salary wise?

Seems the Flames think Toskala is capable of more starts than McElhiney. Not sure their pro scouts have seen him recently.

Toskala to Calgary for McElhiney. Why does Calgary make that move, salary wise? Why does Calgary make that move, period? It's not like Toskala is going to play Toskala UFA, McElhinney 1 more year at $.5M. I don't get it.

Seems the Flames think Toskala is capable of more starts than McElhiney. Not sure their pro scouts have seen him recently. as if that will happen. Kipper isn't going to sit for anyone, let alone Toskala. And McElhiney has better numbers [such as they are] than Toskala.

Toskala UFA, McElhinney 1 more year at $.5M. I don't get it. Guess they are in the market for another backup in a few months. Bizarre.

Just for CO, Belanger for a second (and a late, late WSH second) seems a lot better deal than pending-UFA Moore for a second.
Walker for a 7th is a good deal. He can still bring you something for a throw away draft pick.
Problem is neither play defense. Washington will still give up goals tomorrow.

Darryl Sutter had both Kipper and Toskala in San Jose....maybe he thinks he can rekindle something for a strong Finnish.

Belanger's a UFA according to his wiki page. Signed a 3 year deal with Minny in the July 2007. Moore's got a lot more jam to his game than Belanger.

Raffi Torres to Buffalo for Nathan Paetsch and a 2nd. That's a lot for Torres. Sure seems like an overpayment. Sure he has 19 goals this season, but he has been in a lot of dog houses over the past number of years.

I know CBJ is reported to have wanted a first rounder for him which is lunacy. Paetsch isn't a bad player, and with Buffalo having some blue liners going UFA this summer, you'd have to considering keeping him as he's not expensive. That second rounder won't be late in the round unless the Sabres tank.

I thought for sure Chicago and Washington would be looking for a goalie.

Just heard on the Team 990 that Peter Mueller has a "higher calling" and wants to be a priest. That could explain why the pundits are saying that his "heart" doesn't seem to be in the game in terms of reaching his potential.
