The latest McDonald's breakfast commercial with the NFL soundtrack [dumping flour over the old guy's head].
OK, anything McDonalds.

The latest McDonald's breakfast commercial with the NFL soundtrack [dumping flour over the old guy's head]. OK, anything McDonalds. Another one for the list.... McDonald's Angus Third-Pounder. Various patrons around the seating area, already with food, looking in open-mouthed awe at a guy who's about to eat a third-pounder. Why are they so shocked....weren't they just at the order counter?

Surprised this one hasn't been mentioned yet. It didn't last long.

Why are they so shocked....weren't they just at the order counter? the song is very familiar - who is it? "I Was Made For Lovin' You" by KISS from the Dynasty LP, 1979. It was also on the "Endless Love" soundtrack. Remember that movie with Brooke Shields? I didn't see the movie, but we have the album, in a milk crate somewhere.....not my purchase....honestly. Our first year of marriage. 1981. A combo of rock and disco, I'd say. The era is right. I remember "disco" being a dirty word for rockers like me back then...but give me well-produced Earth, Wind, and Fire and Bee Gees any day over the sampled, monotonous club music of the last 15 years or so. NNTZ NNTZ NNTZ. Hip-hop is another animal....while I appreciate the talent involved (and the drumming is superb) I just can't get into it....and I'll give all kinds of music a try.

well, one for two. BeeGees? I hear ya. ;D The Bee Gees had some really solid "disco" productions. Even the falsetto singing....R&B, doo-wop, jazz, and Motown artists had been doing it in pop music for years. Not easy to do. Yeah, some of it can be grating....not for everybody.....but I can't find fault with the Bee Gees' talent, songwriting, and production.

preferred the pre-disco BeeGees when I had to listen to them . . . and Manilow [see you've edited -- that was quick] -- depended on the day and the date as to whether or not I'd listen to him. he knew how to sell himself for sure.
[and I never ever had time for kiss. "Beth" ties "Only Women Bleed" for the worst "love song" of all time.

"I'm In' -- Bud Lite. Guess I'm too old and I'm not. Beat me to it. If you're a slacker then this commercial is for you. They actually make fun of people that go to work & do their job. Even my 20 year old son thought it was dumb.

Staples commercial for computers. Young family comes home to find they've been robbed....cleaned out. Not really upset about the break-in...but more than a little insulted that the thieves didn't take their computer...as in "it wasn't new/good enough". Cut to the new notebook being handed to them at Staples. The salesman says, "We moved all your files for free." The wife says, "All our pictures, important documents, etc....?" So I guess they're glad their computer wasn't stolen after all? Cut to the husband holding the new computer: "Now this is a computer they'll steal." An idiotic concept from start to finish.

Even my 20 year old son thought it was dumb. This. Apparently people who cut work, stay up past dawn, and do irresponsible things are preferred to those who want to be responsible and, you know, an adult. Beer commercials: all of you suck.

How about that new Fido ad with the guy trying to order coffee from someone imitating an automated voice. Ugh! Yeah, a pretty annoying parallel to something that doesn't exist. --How about the Scotiabank "Chexican" commercial with the coin that lands on its edge....did they pick a guy just because he looks like Zach Galifianakis, or what?

How about that new Fido ad with the guy trying to order coffee from someone imitating an automated voice. Ugh! In French this commercial cracks me up... Dunno, I feel the acting is better, funnier than it's Enlgish conterpart... ...another one that cracks me up is the girl in the Progressive commercial (..Unicorn and glitters...)... I can see how some (many) could find her really annoying but I find her kinda funny. An annoying one for me: The WesJet commercial with the flight attendant playing pick-a-boo with the little girl... Puh-leeease... I really want to take a plane that feels like a kindergarden class...

When is the "nerd-getting-the-hot girl" concept going to die?
--Casino Niagara....nerd on the park bench getting two babes because of his "luck".
--Nerd has chicken sauce near his mouth, and his hot co-worker kisses/licks it off.
Love to see the fallout if the roles were reversed in ads like those.

There is two commercials I see alot now on the Golf Channel ... one of them really bugs me, the other is fine as far as golf commercials go.
The first is Dustin Johnson testing the new Burner irons. He hits a 3 iron 255yrds , and you hear the guy say "it's 273 total" ... then Dustin says "wow, that's long"
A plain simple commercial of the 9th ranked player in the world hitting a decent shot for a pro .... considering Dustin Johnson is 4th on tour in driving distance, averaging 307.1 yrds of the tee. The average pro hits a driver 287.6 yrds.
The second commercial is of a nobody (if you are not a golf fanatic that is), Jamie Sadlowski, testing the new Adams irons. He hits a 7 iron, 255yrds. So we are suppose to go out and buy Adams equipment because a Long Drive Champion, that most probably never even heard of, can hit their irons further than pros hit drivers? And this guy hasn't won squat on tour.
Sadlowski supposedly hit a ball 300 yrds with a putter. His short game must really suck, is all I think of when i see this commercial.

Chili's (..or maybe Friendly's or TGiF...) where the 3 or 4 lawyers in their war room call up the guy in the restaurant to tell him there is no laws against having appetizers for entrees...

Another heartfelt "based on a true story" Tim Horton's commercial. Daughter moves to the big city....Dad misses her. Yeah, right. Based on a true story which happens only about several million times a year. Give it a rest, Tim-marketers. How about a commercial about the kiosks you have in hospitals....selling your artery-clogging crap inside medical institutions. Maybe the daughter could grab a donut and muffin on her way up to visit her dad in the cardiac ward.

Dempster's commercial with Crosby.
Marketing at its most laughable in attempting to draw a parallel between Crosby's work ethic and that of a farmer growing the wheat for the bread.
"It's getting up early.....hard work......because you love it...." etc.
The difference?
--Crosby gets paid millions to do his job. The farmer is at the whim of the weather and market, and is lucky if he makes his payments.
--The "farmer" in the spot is a tractor-driving actor, who got paid scale rates.
--I can only imagine how much Dempster's paid Crosby for his endorsement.

how about the latest McDonald's one with PJ stock & Kelly Hrudey arguing over some hockey play. I get enough of Stock on the CBC. Yeah....and the point they're arguing is bogus. Messier guaranteed the Rangers would win Game 6 against the Devils in the ECF. NOT the Cup, as the commercial says. You'd think Hrudey and/or Stock would've corrected that error in the writing. Athletes doing anything garbage food-related is ridiculous, IMO.
