As per Marinaro. I wouldn't think Burke would go anywhere near Boston again. Makes sense: The Leafs get their #1 centre...and he has chemistry with Kessel. (But did they like each other?) With Wideman leaving, Boston fills the puck-moving d-man role with Kaberle.

31, nearly 32 year old player with a new 7 year contract? Not sure that's a road I'd go down. Then again, I'm not Burke - thankfully.

A Boston fan just relayed this rumour to me not 5 minutes ago ... It's fun to be a Bruin fan this week That's actually a pretty good way of putting it, Skilly. I heard the Savard-to-TO possibility either yesterday or the day before (maybe on TSN, not sure). Then I thought about Toronto/Kaberle with Wideman gone. It almost reminds me of a chess game. Chiarelli thinks his game plan out, moves his pieces very deliberately and keeps thinking ahead. Boston is poised to be 'in good position' for years by the looks of it. If they pull it off then good on both Burke and Chiarelli. It will be good for both teams I think. Cheers.

Phaneuf would nix this proposal; Savard doesn't fit his "size" criteria.

this rumor cropped up before Savard signed his new deal. With Phaneuf, Giguere, Kessell, Komisarek etc how could he fit this in & why would he want to? Getting a guy with Savard's age & contract makes no sense to me.
