I'm very excited to have Radiohead tickets for the April show in Seattle. I've seen them twice, including their 2008 tour with the phenomenal light show, and band likely at the height of its performing career. You can check out full concert footage of a Prague show, from that tour, online: radiohead-prague.nataly.fr/Main.htmlI'm also looking forward to the 4 day Sasquatch music festival at the Gorge Amphitheater at the end of May. I've seen hundreds of great performances at that festival over the years, and the unique setting keeps me going back.

Heading to see ZZ Top tonight with Cigarviper. Should be a good show.
Might be going to see Theory of a Deadman on the 22nd. Not sure yet.
Cheers.

Went to Theory of a Deadman last week. Big Wreck opened for them. Good concert; both bands brought it. But I was disappointed in the ending. As soon as the ToD was finished, the lights to the place came on and the place emptied out. No encore and the crowd didn't even try to bring them back.
Leonard Cohen is here in December. I thought she might want to go, but all Mrs Dis said was, "pass ..."
Okay ...

Okay ... Leonard Cohen is on my bucket lists for concerts. I could easily pass, but my wife likes the guy so we're going Friday. hey, she did go to Clapton with me. besides, I can use the sleep.

OK, in all humility I retract that comment. Reap . . . go!that was easily one of the best concerts I have been at for engaging an audience. even though it was at ScotiaBank Place, it felt like it was a small and intimate venue. the guy had "energy and a half". concert started at 8:00. intermission just after 9:30. back singing before 10:00. at 11:00 he walked off the stage for a couple of minutes [none of this long drawn out applause to get him back, which was nice]. show over just after 11:45 -- a 45 minute encore, and he was still going strong. this review from the Ottawa Citizen does not do him justice. I have a new appreciation for the man. go!!!

Glad you and the Mrs had a good time, Franko. Good to hear Cohen can still bring it too.
Cheers.

Merle Haggard is here May 8th. Sting is here June 18th. No hard decisions here. Will be seeing Sting with Cigarviper.
I hear Merle Haggard puts on a pretty good show. Quite the reputation as an all-night partier.
Cheers.

After more than 25 years, RUSH are coming back to Halifax. No date announced yet, but they've officially said they'll be here this year. Can't wait. They've been on my list for years and years, but haven't been able to see them.

Sorry Reap. Getting down to Vancouver, or over to Edmonton, is a bit of a hike. Similar to what I was looking at to see them in Montreal. I've driven with friends to Montreal for other concerts, and was prepared to have to do it for Rush. I'm glad they've finally decided to come back.

Ya, I'm right in the middle of the two....it's between 7-8 hours to each depending on the roads and traffic. If I was gonna travel this time of year it would be Vancouver, but in the summer months I'd take Edmonton in a heartbeat!!

Coachella live streaming going on all weekend on their YouTube channel. I'm not overly excited about this year's lineup, however, there are some sets worth checking out. A few I'm interested in: Tame Impala, Father John Misty, James Blake, The Lumineers, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Grizzly Bear, The xx www.youtube.com/coachella

Call me cheap, but I have a Bose system with surround speakers, excellent acoustics, nobody standing in front of me and I get whatever requests played immediately. Beer in the fridge and no one ahead of me in line, soft front row seats, 56" HDTV. I know some people like going to concerts, good for them.
