Buffalo had wanted a first. High price for a 3rd line center at best. Not sure return yet.

Nashville is going all in. Do they have the cards?

Gaustad and a 4th lands Buffalo Nashville's first (2012).
So, the league feels Gaustad and a 4th is worth more than Kostitsyn.
I look at the Preds, and they're gonna be hard to play. Won't give up many goals. Won't score too many. Goalie: Rinne. Check. D: Suter, Weber, Gill. Check. Gaustad ups the grit and character. Kostitsyn gives them the chance for a few more goals.

Nashville is going all in. Do they have the cards? they have the goalie and the d. depends if AK comes to life for a bit [that's a stretch] and if Fisher/Erat/Kost Jr/Legwand can score enough. I say . . . no. maybe -- maybe make it to the 3rd round. in tough against St. Louis

I hope the Preds play the Blues. And wear each other out. I give the slight edge to the Blues. Pietrangelo is a beast and their whole team is solid except for that nagging question I have about goaltending. Not sold on Elliott (Zagar &Evans) or even Halak.

Blues goalies both have 6 shutouts. They've been able to go back and forth with both. Halak had a slowish start, and Elliott came out of nowhere this year.

I know they've had outstanding stats and a great year. That's the wonderful thing about being a cantankerous old goat. I can believe whatever I want and to hell with anyone else's well reasoned, soundly researched facts.

Was listening on the car radio last night - apparently Miller is unhappy with Gaustad's departure - and this despite Gaustad's failure to answer when Miller was run over by Lucy.

Put Price behind that group and see his numbers.
