Canucks get Neely back, or maybe it's Stojanov . Quite the trade here. Kassian has looked pretty good whenever I've seen him play.

Rangers picked up a tough guy as well.
Gee...somebody thinks they just might need something to neutralize the Bruins' intimidation come playoff time.
Go figure.

Kassian definitely fits the tough guy with hands profile. They gave up a lot to get him as Hodgson has improved a lot and has scored big goals for the Nucks. I think Marchands days of beating up the Sedins are over. It's a little overpriced, but shows what a potentially skilled tough guy will go for.

Gotta wonder if this deal didn't take away too much talent from the Canucks, and Kassian wasn't ready to fill the talented tough guy role...
When Daniel Sedin went down, there just wasn't the needed secondary scoring. Hodgson might have filled in that gap.

IMO, Hodgson is far more talented than Kassian.

Kassian is a big power forward guy and there's a large trail of those kinds of guys who take till they're 23 and 24 before they show their stuff.
In Gillis' post season PC, he mentioned that he spent more time on Cory's issues the last 2 years than the rest of the team combined. That suggests that Mr Hodgson is a high maintenance type of guy who focuses on himself instead of the team. I think you'll see disappointment with Hodgson, wherever he goes, though as you say, the talent is there.
