Sans gloves? tsk tsk tsk. This gets my juices flowing a bit more: www.youtube.com/watch?v=go0ztQIoi90End of the front straight, they're doing 210mph and slowing to 70. Riders feel at least 3G going into that corner.

Kind of makes me want to chase her, plant a kiss, either get my balls handed to me......or a wild afternoon of wild grounds for a divorce discussion...... and ride off into the sunset! Here is a few from my ex-broken country....same bike as mine..... ENDLESS roads like these.......

sigh. when I was on Rhodos a few years back I wanted to grab a bike and ride those roads. it was a beautiful island and fantastic scenery. gotta get back to the islands one day [my wife and I have talked about a sailing tour. however, life being what it is, it will be a while.

California has some awsome rides along the coast and through the local mountains. Riding is great 12 months a year and it almost never rains. I have two bikes and Easy Rider rents Harleys. Come on down!

Come on down! Rub it in why don't you. PCH, Palomar, Angel's Crest (when the squids aren't on it) and the whole system of roads on the mountains north of LA are all on my list.

my tastes run a little simpler, Reap. was seriously looking at one of these this year [my wife wanted a new couch -- I told her "you can't ride one of those outside!" right now: impasse].

Presently, this: Leaning toward the sport touring genre as I approach my 40s. Love the cobalt blue and wine red colours. It's gotta be able to haul butt, and handle corners .

presently, still, and for the foreseeable future, this [especially after the bill for preparing for the extended road trip . . . no couch in the foreseeable future either, though . . . always something else more pressing: can't really complain . . . the CB750 has been touted number 3, top 10 motorcycles of all time [fwiw, mine's an '80]. check out the other 9 . . . some interesting bikes, to say the least.

Vstroms are solid bikes. Have you had it lowered? Looks to be sitting lower than stock.

Vstroms are solid bikes. Have you had it lowered? Looks to be sitting lower than stock. The beauty of having your own machines shop....custom made links. I love the bike but.................. When I was reading up on them, I read that they are top heavy and crash bars are a good idea. Well, I bought the crash bars and put them on BEFORE I rode it. Much to my surprise, it IS top heavy, so much so that when you go past a few degrees, she wants to go over and take a nap. So on my second ride, I ride up my driveway, stop and lean it a bit, over I go. About a week later, I'm coming to a stop, there is a tiny bit of sad/gravel on the ground, a tiny slip, over I go on the OTHER side. So I lowered it. LOL! Front is down 1.2 inch, the back 1.5 inches. My pride took a huge beating...and the bike, other then minor scuff marks on the crash bars, didn't get a scratch on it. After riding it for two season, the dropsies have gone away. My mind has gotten us to the words "straight up or hurt pride", plus the lower CG helps. I would of loved to have bought the BMW, but I couldn't get my head around $20k for a bike and $2k insurance. Basically, more to insure a bike then a Porsche 911. She's costing me around $900 and I'm told that $550 of it is McF**k mandated insurance on it. Given that I don't ride it more then 30-40 times a season, that is a lot of insurance per ride. Anywho...it's only money.

I used to get full coverage insurance. I just get 'plpd' now. For my 636cc bike it's a little more than $300. Full coverage for me would likely be 750-900. If I rode year round, or commuted on it, I'd likely get full coverage. I don't though. It's strictly a pleasure vehicle, and it's rarely parked somewhere other than home.
A friend of mine's father has the 650 Vstrom. The guy might be 5'5. I don't know if he's lowered it since, but the first couple of years he rode it at stock ride height. It was like trying to mount a horse for him.
BMWs are ridiculously priced. The smaller FG based bikes with the parallel twin are not too bad, but the minute you get into the boxer engined bikes you're gonna spend money.

You pay $300? Where? Not in GTA.
$300 doesn't bother me, but $900 does considering I hardly ride it. $25 a ride for insurance? Last year, I let it lapse for the winter because I had to go to Greece and now, I was thinking about insuring it next week, only to find out an hour ago that my mother is going to go into the hospital again and I probably have to go to Greece. If I get to ride it by mid-May, I'd be lucky. Needless to say, my wife would be thrilled if I sold it.
Anywho.....

TD [used to be Primmum]. 550, PLPD, 2 riders.
Checked around this year, most companies won't even look at insuring the bike because it's vintage . . . or want 3 times as much.

Primmum. I checked with them in 2005, when I was getting back into riding after a 5 year absence. They wanted to charge me 3k for the first year. I politely told them to you know what.

I politely told them to you know what. funny, from the beginning they gave me the best rate -- usually about half what other companies wanted -- and that was with a Gixxer

Buddy of mine is with them too. Has had full coverage on ZX10Rs for under 400. He's 4 years older than I am. It's like I was the randomly selected victim lol.

Or part of the HabsRus elite? That could have a strange effect on lesser people particularly those which worship the false Gods of Laffian Land. ;D
