David Perron to Edmonton for Magnus Paajarvi and a 2014 second-round draft pick. (TSN)
Disappointed in that we could have used this guy in Montreal. Wonder if Bergevin was even in the running.
Cheers.

Never really understood the fascination myself. Average size, barely average production. He underwhelms me, and isn't someone I'd make a trade for.

The Oilers have a plethora of young forwards, so they could give up one for Perron. We'd likely would have had to give up Eller. Eller is way better than Paarjarvi. I don't think Bergevin had anything to deal here, unless he offered up our first rounder.

However, from what I understand he's as a character guy, which is what Bergevin is looking for. Skilly, you're right. I didn't think we have any talented forwards in the system to offer up. Berg also likes hanging onto his draft picks. Cheers.

I'd argue that Eller is better than Perron.

I'd argue that Eller is better than Perron. That's what I was getting at .... ... We don't have a Pajaarvi equivalent type player to offer.

Perron is locked up till 2016 on a deal with a 3.8 million cap hit. Paajarvi is a RFA. May have had something to do with it.

Blues needed to clear up some cap space. Decent return, and it is cap friendly.
