If the Oilers can get Kreider and Del Zotto for Hemsky, pull the darn trigger. Not sure I'd do it for Yak without asking for a little more.

Pretty cheap price....could we not do better...Edm need d-men we could afford to part with the likes of a Pateryn Nygren, Beaulieu, Diaz...take your pick....would you deal Gorges and a kid plus whatever? Yakupov is a bit of a wild card but to re-unite him with Galchenyuk would be intriguing and potentially lethal. Habs need another goal scorer...secure that piece and then find the pieces to build a difference making 4th line and then you are in the mix. HFTO

Gorges, who's not having a good year imo, is a western boy and locked up long term. I think he'd be crushed to be traded, but I would definitely do a deal with him their choice of Patern/Nygren/Diaz and a high pick. Or, Gorges, Beaulieu and a middling pick. If Yakupov is truly on the block you HAVE to inquire. Given the turnover in Montreal, from the old guard to the young core, Yakupov would fit in perfect. HFTO It would be fun watching Yak and Gal paired up in Montreal. Not sure what horses would be going the other way. Edmonton also needs veteran leadership in addition to defencemen. Kind of early to be giving up on Yak, though. If there is some kind of actual talk going on out there, then there might be something behind the scenes that we're not privy too. I'm not saying there are any issues, but why would Edmonton be giving up on his so soon? Cheers.

Would you give up Tinordi + pick/player? That's who Edmonton is going to zoom in on.

Would you give up Tinordi + pick/player? That's who Edmonton is going to zoom in on. I thought about this last night. I like Tinordi A LOT, but Yak is a dynamic guy. I will say this, I don't think MThead is the coach for him. Get me Dominic Ducharme in Halifax. Put it this way. We haven't had a good team for shootouts since Kovy. Having a duo like Yak and Galch would be as good a one two punch as you could hope for. Would you trade the pick we used to get Tinordi for the first overall? I would. I think we can find another Tinordi a lot easier than we can find a Yakupov.

He publicly stated that he does not like playing without the puck, and won't change ... Nope, keep him away from our team, we have our own circus to deal with. We don't need another.

He's generating his own controversy in Edmonton. I guess he feels he's deserving of more ice time. He deserves more ...Too bad the kid doesn't have a mentor. Cheers.

Yikes, a 20 year rookie asking for more ice time using the media.... And his agent saying he should be playing 18 minutes/game and have PP minutes.....or be traded ? I don't know, but I suspect the coach will not like that too much..... The phone must be ringing in the Edmonton GM's office....

Kind of reminds me how ungrateful Sergei Kostitsyn and Mikhail Grabovski were while with Montreal. Heck, Grabovski scored quite a few goals for Toronto, but he eventually complained his way out of TO. Kostitsyn is in the KHL having never lived up to his potential. What Yakopov needs now is a veteran influence. Maybe someone has already talked to him, I really don't know. But, he's going in the wrong direction. Hope that direction doesn't include Montreal. Granted he's young and inexperienced, but so were Kostitsyn and Grabs. We've had our share of ingrates over the years. Reflected badly on our leadership at every level, too. Cheers.

Yes sir, I like a more talented adn more whiny Grabovki to make my day! Yes sir.....
He was benched and demoted for his defensive no shows, game in and game out. Do we really need that?

MDZ is a healthy scratch against the Habs tonight. Read into that what you will.
