TSN saying that Canucks also eat 800k per year for the next 4 years. Pretty brutal goalie saga for last 2 years. It was initially reported as 15% of Luongo's salary for the entire contract Capgeek has $800,000 cap hit in each year until 2022

Whatever it was CH, Gillis really made a mess of this team. Last year he had Schneider and Luongo, and now he has Lack and Markstrom. Is Bo Horvat, Shawn Matthias and Markstrom really worth TWO #1 goalies? Perhaps one should wait until we see how Eddie Lack turns out. Initial impressions are pretty good. If he bombs, its a bad deal for Vancouver. If, he pans out, they finally get rid of an albatross of a contract. The Horvat for Schneider deal wasn't that bad. I don't see Schneider voted into the Hall of Fame yet. Good goalie? Yes. We still have to see how Horvat turns out. There's a lot of water yet to go under the bridge before we know who has won what.

I'd love to see Vanek in a Habs uniform, then signed ..... I wonder what it's going to take to get him

I'd love to see Vanek in a Habs uniform, then signed ..... I wonder what it's going to take to get him I'm with you. A lot. Conventional thinking was that come July 1 he was going to bolt for the Wild. He's been quoted this week as saying that a move to contender, or at least a strong playoff run, could convince him to stay. Didn't rule it out.

It's Erat and John Mitchell for Klesla, Chris Brown and a pick between Caps and Coyotes.

McKenzie said earlier that Callahan and Rangers were really close, but would have to decide one way or another really soon. That leads us into the report from Katie Strang that Kesler will NOT waive his NTC to head to Rangers, which would tell me that the Rangers had given up on signing Callahan.

Addressing a need for more goals.
Imagine that.

Isn't that what we did yesterday. Therrien needed another short player with character, who doesn't score, and Bergevin went out and got him. Now we can put MB away again until the end of the season where he can come out of his ivory tower and tell us "we've made a lot progress this year" after we've been swept out of the first round of the playoffs.

Callahan makes them grittier but he can't replace St. Louis' offense.

Sens sign Phillips to $5 million 2 year extension. I believe that's $2.5 million a year. Chris is 35, so that contract sticks regardless.

Sets the bar for other scoring forwards available.

Kings get d prospect Brayden McNabb and 2 second round picks from Sabres for Hudson Fasching and Nicholas Deslauriers. Sabres have a ton of defensive prospects. McKenzie says Fasching is a big scoring winger from University of Minn. Addresses a big need for sure.

Pierre LeBrun @real_ESPNLeBrun 27s Nashville Preds trade Devan Dubnyk to Montreal for futures
What the hell?
Price has to be out longer or Budaj or tokarski on the move

Guessing Price is not close. Why not give Tokarski a shot getting some games in.
With Price being uncertain, do they push to unload some vets a bit more now. I doubt it, but I sure wish we could sell hard right now.

Be interesting to know how much. It's the only reason to trade futures for him and not take him on waivers. Devan looked like he was finally going to put it together, but his confidence fell off dramatically. Of course, playing goal in Edmonton can do that do you. I wonder what, if anything, Waite can accomplish with him. He's a UFA at seasons end.
