From Pierre LeBrun ... Chicago and Anaheim are now the frontrunners for Kesler ... also, the Kings are close to re-signing Gaborik ... Cheers.

Re Hawks, you'd have to think Saad would be one of the pieces going the other way.

LeBrun did mention that this signing might affect where Spezza ends up ... Cheers.

Bergevin showed at deadline he is not afraid to make moves, in Vanek, Weaver and Weiss. Next few days should be interesting. I am expecting attempt to move up in draft, a couple of free agent signings.

Apparently these were the only two teams he'd waive his no trade clause to. Talk about hamstringing your team. TSN is reporting that a deal with the Ducks appears to be complete. Going the other way is Bonino, Sbisa, and the Ducks 24th overall this year. EDIT: Confirmed www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=455848

Seems a weak return for a guy with decent size and the ability to pot a few goals. He scored 16 for Florida in one season. Not sure how good a passer he is, but you'd have to think a team with some scoring up front would up his point totals.

About Garrison, told canucks he would accept trade (Full NTC) to only two teams, Habs and Bolts. Problem is that we don't have a second round pick. To best the offer we would have had to give our first, which would leave us with no picks in first two rounds. I see this as a salary dump on the Canucks side. They didn't retain any of his salary. Canucks also acquire Dorsett from rangers for the third round pick they got from Anaheim in the Kesler deal.
So to summarize, Kesler to Anaheim for Bonino, Sbisa, first round pick and Dorsett. Not bad

I'm not sure where he would have fit in with us. He's another LH shot.

Not bad Pierre Macguire just on FAN690 said Garrison requested trade to Montreal after talking to Weiss

Not bad Yeah, after a few hours to digist, its not bad. Bonino had more points than Kesler last year, so he may be an acceptable replacement as a #2 centre (though that's marginal). Nope, not bad at all, especially after its come out that Kesler wasn't a favourite teammate in Vancouver.
