Bruins lose at home after 8 rounds of a shootout to Calgary.
Philly making it interesting with a 3-1 win over St. Louis.
Now just 4 back of the Bruins for the final wild card....and they play in Boston on Saturday afternoon.
Panthers pick up a point, losing in a shootout to Dallas...remain 2 behind Boston.

Flyers take a 2-1 lead with 4:30 left in Boston.
And they call the Habs' divers.
Simmonds backchecking on Paille, who feels a stick and dives. Down like a tree.
Of course, Bruins get a PP with 2:03 left. Of course, Julien goes for the 6-on-4.
Bruins-management.
The Flyers have been all over them this period.
Terrible officiating.

And the Bruins score with 14 seconds left. Marchand deflects a Hamilton point shot.
Talk about a travesty.

Marchand the hero in OT.
Great job, refs!
Expect a bonus cheque from Jacobs.

When I saw they scored with 15 seconds left on a PP, the very obvious question is if it was game management at work again, and Yes! It was! I wonder how long this can last before people like me stop watching, even on television. I don't want a fake managed game. If my team sucks, they suck, I don't want them to make it close. It's dishonesty at its worst (as if that bothers Buttkins). We got ripped on the Patches call against LA, purely to please the fans.

Must've been quite the game in Ottawa.
The Flames, down 4-0, pumped 24 shots at Anderson in the 3rd period and scored 4 to send it to OT. Shots were 46-42 Calgary.
Sens get the extra pt. in the SO.
Hope their balloon bursts soon.

Yeah, why didn't Hammond play tonight? The Sens played Friday….and next on Tuesday.
Don't know why they're not running with him as long as it's not back-to-back.
Anyway….had to laugh at Cherry last night….jumping on the Hammond bandwagon...PRAISING the Sens.
Yep…the Leafs are done like dinner, so let's get behind the other Ontario team.
The same team whose fans he disrespected on HNIC when he brought Kadri, Orr, and McLaren into the studio after a 4-0 Toronto win in Ottawa.

goaltending controversy!!! Saw most of the game and my hat goes off to Bob Hartley ... one of the announcers pointed out that Hartley was going up and down the bench encouraging the troops from the time they were down 4-0 until they tied it up ... I saw his post-game presser after and he was grinning from ear to ear despite the loss ... I was hoping Calgary would win it in OT ... Johnny Hockey scored a beauty in the SO ... Cheers.

. Johnny Hockey scored a beauty in the SO ... Cheers. I don't usually jump on the bandwagon when a college kid gets that much hype, but he's improved a lot from the beginning of the season and that was a Patrick Kaneish style goal in the shoot-out. The stick was almost a blur and then he gets his stick under Anderson's stick and puts the puck through the legs. I haven't seen that before, in or out of the shootout.

Leafs up 2-0 over the Islanders in the second. Greg Millen, in an effort to defend a fellow goaltender (who happens to be having a good game)....slams the rest of the Leafs. "Jonathan Bernier at times has been criticized, I think unfairly in this market....because he sees chances (in one game) that a lot of goalies don't see for a week or two in the National Hockey League! And when you see that many Grade A chances, sooner or later, once in a while, you're gonna make a mistake. Again, when you see chances in quality areas...and a lot of them game in and game out, sooner or later pucks are gonna go through you once in a while. People don't get that. They just look at the goal and don't look at the big picture."Bernier and Reimer have let in a lot of bad goals this year....but Millen is correct about the Leafs' defensive coverage. The camera locked onto Garth Snow after the second Toronto goal...and he looked as impressed as we do when the Habs are being beaten by the likes of Buffalo. I'll give the Leafs credit, though. They ARE playing a much better game than they have in recent months....

After taking a 3-1 lead, the Leafs have collapsed again.
2 quick goals...Bernier had no chance on either.
Sure hope Toronto hangs on for at least a point.

Yep...they get at least one. To OT.

Highlight reel goal from Tavares wins it with 21 seconds left in OT. But the Leafs were very soft on him.
Millen's point was made. Bernier stopped this game from being another blowout. Just too many good chances....over 40 shots for the Isles tonight.
Kessel was invisible. The camera caught him laughing on the bench at one point.
Kessel has ZERO points against playoff teams in 2015.
But don't pick on him.

(Edit: Just realized you're talking calendar year 2015, not the 2014-2015 season. Still, the Leafs have played 15 games against teams currently in a playoff spot so far in 2015, so that's still a pretty "impressive" stat.)

I heard that Kessel stat on the Leafs' post-game show on TSN1050.
Horachek took JVR off Kessel's line, as he'd been performing very weakly against playoff teams as well. He scored the Leafs' 3-1 goal.
I really thought/hoped Bernier could steal two points.
I don't think Kessel's media rant is being bought. I think was more about how the media treats HIM rather than his captain.
As one panelist said recently in the second intermission of Saturday's game. I think it was Kypreos…and Dan Bylsma agreed.
"How is the media treating Phaneuf badly? Kessel wasn't specific. He gave no examples. Where was the support for his captain when Eric Staal blasted a puck at him (standing in front of an empty net) a while back?"

I see Buffalo returning to respectability well before the Oilers though.

In shocking news, both Edmonton and Buffalo are officially eliminated from the playoff race. Tim Murray says "about time". Craig MacTavish says "were we ever in it?" and Toronto Maple Leaf fans everywhere ask "what's a playoff race?"

Oilers outshot the Wings nearly 2 to 1 yesterday. The highlights showed Detroit getting a few lucky bounces their way to create goals. Oil could still use better goaltending. This year it's been very shaky at times.

You have to figure the Oilers are going to go after Niemi this summer when he is a FA. If not, there is Lehner/Anderson in Ottawa, Bernier/Reimer in TO, Martin Jones in LA, maybe Subban in Boston that could be available.
Not much to choose from. It kinda feels like our Habsrus fantasy league when it comes to finding a goalie for your team.

Watched three games last night ... mostly watched the Habs, but I had to check in on the Bruins and the Senators ... both clubs are hot right now and at the right time of year ... Boston missed out on going all the way last year only to be eliminated by the Habs ... I dare say they believe a reckoning is in order ... the Senators remind me of the 2010 Green Bay Packers ... they're firing on all cylinders and I don't think anyone wants to take them on in round 1 ... just a darn good team ever since the Hamburgler entered the scene ...
Cheers.

Sens and Bruins tied 2-2 at the end of one.
Quite a game going on. 4-4 now, with six minutes left in the second. Hamburglar must have been apprehended and an imposter is in his place.
6-4 Final for Ottawa. The noose tightens around the Bruins.
