I'd like to see Ottawa make it for a couple of reasons.
1. It's different. It would be nice to see some of the same old, same olds miss the finale. 2. After going at the harried pace they've had to keep up to simply make the playoffs, the Sens are primed for a huge letdown and should be easy pickins in the first round. Just prick that grossly extended balloon.
There....hard, scientific evidence as to why Ottawa should make the playoffs.

I'd like to see Ottawa make it for a couple of reasons. you obviously don't live here. life will be unbearable . . . they're turning Leaf-like. and believe it or not, already planning for how good they'll be next year (they might be right, but still . . . ) in order for us to play them (not sure that I'd like to the way they mostly have our number -- they may be ready to flame out after they make it in, or they may have enough to get to the second round) they have to climb past the Bruins and the Pens. but if they do make it have enough to go, wouldn't it be great to see them knock off the Rags? my fear is that first round 2 v 7 match-up, which always seems to be the upset. ugh.

so torn.
want Ottawa out because it would be so difficult to deal with fans/neighbours/etc if they're in.
want Detroit out because of the 24th straight playoff berth.
want Boston out . . . because it's Boston.

Went to high school in Ottawa and I blog with quite a few old school mates elsewhere ... when they start talking about the Sens the whole mindset reminds me of those days ... a lot of it is bravado, but it gets a tad immature at times ... don't want the Sens match up ... they're rolling into the playoffs like the 2010 Packers ... the 1st round just got a lot harder against anyone if Pacioretty is out for any length of time ... Cheers.

Thanks Gogie.
What will our Canadian broadcasters do with all the time usually devoted to praising/cheering for Doughty?

what will Cherry do if Boston isn't in?? Bash the Habs? ... a rhetorical question, Dis he'd do that regardless. I guess he just has more time for it now.

I'm pretty sure they won't be forgetting about the Habs, but their spotlights will probably be on the Senators ... Hammond, Karlsson and Stone ... Calgary is quite the story too ... the Habs should get some attention, they just won't be the focus ...
Cheers.

And if the Sens face the Habs, it might as well be a local Ottawa broadcast.

Franko was mentioning what the Ottawa media is saying, but I was only in Ottawa overnight and it seems the whole city is in now ... they're the toast of the town and probably CBC too ... Cheers.

Steady dose of Brad Richards don't forget. Regardless, I won't be watching HNIC coverage.

Pens lose to the isles. Don't know what is wrong with them. The power of a funk can be just as strong as the power of a streak. As confident as the Sens are, the Pens are the exact opposite.

Pens lose to the isles. Don't know what is wrong with them. Missing a lot of their defense. Halak with a strong performance (where have we seen that before...?)

He let an absolutely brutal one in the other night with 3 seconds left in a game the Isles had fought back to tie with two empty net goals in the last 3 minutes. Cost them at least a point.

Man, the Sens can't do anything wrong and their opponents can't do anything right. Awful clear by Mason. 1-0 Sens.

2-1 Sens now. Pageau obviously mistaking Philly sweaters for Hab Unis. As you're aware, I love targeting certain players on opposing teams...the guys that seem to have an inordinate amount of success against us. Pageau fits that bill beautifully. I'd crush him.

I wonder how Mitchell and Petry have done against Ottawa with their other teams? Hopefully very well.
I'm guessing both Chiarelli and Julien are done in Boston. There was some talk on SNE about Chiarelli and management above him (Jacobs & Neely probably) not seeing eye to eye. Good. Just what leadership skills does Neely bring to the Bruins? What am I saying? He's a Jacobs boy.

Yes that would be true, if we win tonight and Detroit loses to Carolina. If Detroit ties or wins tonight we'd get the Senators. But many things can still happen, it's all depends on who wins tonight, Montreal, Tampa and Detriot. Here are the scenarios... If we win tonight or gain a point and Detroit loses we get Detroit in the 1st round. If Detroit wins or ties (OT) we get the Sens If we lose tonight and the Lightning win and Detroit wins or ties we get Detroit in the first round, If Detroit loses we get the Sens. If it were up to me I'd rather play Detroit! Let the Lightning deal with the Senators. One of our nemesis will be knocked out for us. Edit: oops forgot about the Penguins if they win and Detroit loses we could be playing them in we win tonight.. It's still so confusing!!
