This may just be one of those nights. Puck isn't hitting Price, no bounces, everything is a little off.

Good night nurse another white wash...frustrating.
As good as the boys can be the D is nearly not good enough.. overall against the better teams so far this year way too easy to play against on both ends of the ice.
This ones over next test St.Louis going to listen to balnace on the radio....see ya Thursday.

What I don't like is that we've had what I think are 4 statement games against the better teams, Tampa, Chicago, Boston and Pitts. We've only won one and been badly outplayed in the other 3. I didn't see any of those 3, but they were/are blowouts. Not a good sign,

Well the Leaf game is pretty entertaining. They're getting pumped 8-0 now. Fans starting to throw things on the ice.

sounds like it a good thing I can't see any of the game.
on the positive side of things, I'm in Toronto for a meeting so it should be fun tomorrow. no Leaf fan dares say anything.

Missed the entire game as well. I guess there's no reason to have a post-game thread. Not much to say after a 4-0 loss to a top team after a 6-game winning streak. It happens. Only 2 pages in the GDT. Are we becoming complacent? Or just busy? Meanwhile, on the north shore of Lake Ontario..... Now 9-2 for the Preds. Leafs outscored 15-4 in the last two games. As you said, franko, better not hear a word.....they play Tampa Bay next.

I'd rather watch Leaf misery right now. A jersey was just tossed on the ice during play. Now the Preds have put in 9.

Poor showing. Is it just s bad game? I only saw the first two periods.... not that bad a game overall, a few bad bounces, no puck luck, a horrible turnover in the slot by Beaulieu...

Can't wait to listen to Leafs lunch today. the drive home was more than entertaining! wow are they going nuts! I particularly enjoyed the caller who said to trade Phaneuf for a first. "He's a bum, he's no good, he's useless" . . . let's get something good for him. do these callers not have a clue?

Someone today on 590 said 'Scott Gomez was traded once upon a time...' when talking about the possibility of Phaneuf being traded. Ya there's gotta be an idiot GM out there who will help the Leafs out. The host countered that Gomez actually had some decent production under his belt, what has Phaneuf ever done?
The Leafs are going to have to eat some of these ludicrous contracts they've handed out to their pitiful core if they ever hope to climb out of this mess. I'm hoping they're stuck in this quagmire for a few more decades.

Also the same ones who maintain Bernier is the best goalie in the league and should have played for Canada in the Olympics last year. Of course these are the same people who thought Reimer was the great saviour two years ago

The comments are pretty good. lots of pissed off people. I've never been a fan of tossing a jersey... it's disrespectful to the logo and they just cost too much. If you're unhappy, give the jersey to a charity, which the team does when you toss them on the ice. EDIT: Someone posted on a TSN article the following: Tampa's in town on Thursday so the fans have to ask themselves, "Do I wear my Home or (throw) Away jersey?"

The signals indicate that the Maple Leafs (TML) are not a well managed organization. Compare how they went about getting a new head and how the Habs did.
TML- look for a high profile hockey guy who will impress the hell out of fans. Previous managing experience not necessary, but optics are critical and if he's a high profile, well liked and admired former player, all the better. Enter Brendan Shanahan. Who does very little organizationally (that I know of). Good in front of the camera, though.
Habs. Send Serge Savard, a former successful manager, on a talent hunt. Experience in front office a necessity. Enter Marc Bergevin, who happens to be a former player, but not a high profile one by any stretch. Lots of experience with a winning organization. He immediately surrounds himself with experienced, quality people. (Caveat - his choice of coaches is still suspect, but I realize the list of available people was not long)
I always hated those guys (and girls) who use flash and looks to get ahead. In fact, I'm very wary of any aspiring 'leader' (especially politicians) who looks good. They're usually tall, fit, with a great smile and oozing charm. If we could only see behind their eyes to what their brains look like. They might be the equivalent of.....well, any metaphor I use would insult the metaphee, so I'll leave it to your imagination. I admire those people who get ahead despite their looks, because they must really have something going for them to overcome the competition.
Anyway, I'm not that concerned about the TML turning this ship around any time soon. It starts at the top and while Shanahan might be a well intentioned prez, he lacks the skill and experience needed. Wasn't his experience all in the NHL head office? Yikes!
