Am I the only one that sees Vegas as being a recipe for personal tragedy? With such easy access to all that gambling... now don't get me wrong, I don't think the integrity of the game is at stake in the sense that I don't see any players throwing games to pay off gambling debts, but on a personal level I can see a lot of players getting in some deep financial trouble. We all know the stories about players either partying too much, or blowing all their money way too early in life and being bankrupt afterwards. And we've all see pictures of guys like Mike Commodore lying in beds of money that they have won in off-season Vegas gambling junkets. Now we're going to put players there full-time? Can you imagine young, ridiculously rich men with a lot of time on their hands living in Vegas?
I don't know... Seems like a recipe for some pretty bad stories to come out if you ask me. They don't call it Sin City for nothing.

They don't call it Sin City for nothing. I didn't think of this reason, thought it's the main reason Mrs Dis and I didn't vote for a casino here in town ... I just think it's a bad decision putting a hockey franchise into another desert environment ... Well, the awards are being held there ... don't know if that's a foreshadowing or not ... another desert-based team in a city where hockey is a novelty ... it may/may not work, I couldn't tell you, but I can see it ending up as a have-not team just as soon as the novelty wears off ... an important piece of culture would come back to Quebec ... Seattle just seems to be a better fit ... sports town, too, eh ... Cheers.

There are Casino's in almost every city....look at the issues in Montreal and New York etc.
I was watching one of the sports shows from the states NESN I think, and they were saying that a franchise in Vegas would probably very quickly become the NHL's most valuable team. Not sure that's true or not, but I can also see it become very successful!!

Steve Simmons makes some good points ... the Leafs were actually hoping to move some core players, but there were no takers ... little interest on Phil Kessel, Dion Phaneuf, and zero interest in Tyler Bozak ... the Leafs now have to adjust their arcs of fire ... Mark Hunter has an intimate knowledge of the OHL, especially Southeastern Ontario ... he's been following Toronto's first two picks, Mitch Marner and Travis Dermott, since they were 14 years old ... here's the link ...Cheers.

If he hasn't lost a step, he should be an ok addition to a team. The problem is that the league is speeding up. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Leafs take a chance on him, at $650k a year or so.

He's lost more than one step. That's the problem. Injuries and a lack of commitment to fitness are two big knocks. On the cheap, as a 4th line center? Perhaps. Somewhere.

A few weeks ago, I wasn't yet convinced that ROR was a headcase. I thought maybe his agent was just a shark and it made ROR look greedy and immature.
This incident answers all the questions that I had about his character. Thanks, Ryan.

because there really is no other place for it, "Odds and Sods" it is . . . The NHL’s IMDb Goofs Page . . . NHL Season (2014-15): Goofs (and I'm not talking specific players or coaches, though I may be tempted to).
