3 years, $3.275 million per. Very small raise over previous deal. Despite his age, a very good tweener player that still skates well.

Yikes, Joel Ward at nearly $3.3MM. Good for him, but Wow.

Yikes, Joel Ward at nearly $3.3MM. Good for him, but Wow. He was making $3 million on his last deal. Still good at what he does. Hasn't seemed to slow down. Had a good playoff for the Caps. Third year might be an issue, but I don't think the cap hit is bad. It's 750k more than Prust, and Ward can do the physical part (minus fighting) and provide some offense. If Kassian can give us Ward's numbers, especially those from 2013-14, we'll be really happy and he'll be getting a big raise.
