I recognize the lady wearing white ... she is in row 3, I am above her in row 9. Very nice ... great seats ... Cheers.

Nice to see Scherbak contributing after missing so much time. Scott may not be much of an NHLer, but he's a consummate pro. The rumour around town is that he asked to wear his St. John's IceCaps jersey at the NHL all-star festivities .... Oh I hope that's true!

I see that Scherbak is wearing (ahem) #17. It's an omen boys. Murray Wilson, Rod Langway, great number. The two best to wear #17, as a Hab, were Jean-Guy Talbot and John LeClair. Craig Ludwig also wore it. However, there were a lot of bums that wore it as well ....Jason Ward, Georges Laracque, Mark Lamb, Dustin Boyd and Rene Bourque to name a few. Torrey Mitchell currently wears it

Sylvain Lefebvre's record since starting with the Habs farm team: The chart describes the win/loss differential. Charted territory above the line is over .500, below the line, under .500.

I know, I just find the combination of letters entertaining. Like Habsorbed for example. First time I read his tag, I thought it was Habs or Bed. Make of that what you will.

I've always read it as Habs or bed, until 30 seconds ago. I guess it is intended to be absorbed with an H. I will go to bed very slightly less dunce as I was when I woke up this morning.

A similar tale of 2 cities. Tampa outshoots us but the goaltender saves the day and Habs beat Tampa 4-2. Syracuse (Tampa's farm team) outshoots the IcCAps 39-18, but Fucale saves the day and St. John's wins 4-0. It would be nice to win without the goalie being the first star. theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1015384McCarron and Scherbak with a goal each.

That was quite the burst of speed to break away. And it was a very smart play to anticipate the pass. I think he can make out team right now and replace DD comfortably. Shouldn't have any trouble getting at least 8 points in 30 games.
I read another stat this past week. Of all the players in the NHL with more than 100 minutes on the PP, Desharnais was 184 out of 187 in points per minute. But the rocket scientist behind the bench keeps putting him out there because, "he trusts him".

Here's the box score for the game. Basically, Fucale stole another one. The Ice Caps sure look (from a statistical standpoint) like last year's Habs. Syracuse outshot the IceCaps 36-19. The Syracuse goalie was Gulevskis, the Latvian kid who held Canada to a 1-0 win in the last Olympics. Not so impressive today with 4 goals on 19 shots. Hudon was the first star, Fucale the 2nd. theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1015391I'd sure like to see Hudon up with the big team. His anticipation on the OT goal was terrific and his speed was really impressive. A bigger, better Desharnais, IMO.

We were up in the box and before OT started I turned to my friend and said that the IceCaps will win at 1:44 of OT ... the goal came at 1:45 (DOH!). One thing I did not like about the goal was that Scherbak started the OT with Dumont (Dumont also had a breakaway chance) and you will notice in the video that #17 is on the ice when the OT goal is scored. He never came off the ice the entire 1:45 ... some of it was due to the fact that he stayed on the far side when the others were changing, and some of it was due to the fact that he joined every offensive break out. Will Lefevbre punish him?

Ovechkin did that when he was younger. Can't recall who his coach was, but he kept him out for some incredibly long period of time...5 minutes or something like that. That was to make a point. I'm not sure if it sank in or not. Trotz has him totally cooperative now, without any apparent 'punishment'. He's also more mature himself. But, yes, it's critical in OT not to be tired, so quick changes are needed.

Is it just me or does Hudon use a stick that rivals for length the one MAB used?
