George "Bud" Holloway (the Prairie Darche) will make his long awaited NHL debut tomorrow night against the Devils. I like these stories!

Tinordi has been assigned to the IceCaps for conditioning purposes. Just past the quarter pole and not a meaningful shift of hockey yet. Glad to see he will at least get some ice time. canadiens.nhl.com/club/blogpost.htm?id=43204

Glad to see he will at least get some ice time. he's a useless asset right now. out of game shape. hasn't shown a thing to be traded for. get him some playing time then bring him back and get him a shift or two. I'm disappointed in the way he's been handled; I think he could have been a good one for us but was never given the chance.

If he had progressed faster/better, he probably would have been given more chances, so he shoulders part of the blame. Therrien's 'seniority' complex hurt in this instance. He got down on Tinordi from the very beginning when Gorges handed him a suicide pass rather than ringing it around the boards and Kessel scored. I remember wondering what the heck Gorges was doing, but Therrien was thinking something else. All downhill from there. Confidence is a fragile thing. Funny, cause Therrien sometimes gives other guys who are showing nothing, (eg DSP) tons of opportunities.

An article on the Habs' site about Bud making his NHL debut at 27+ years young. canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=789750&navid=DL|MTL|homeI like MT's comment about liking to use all players on the roster...he should have qualified and said "not named Tinordi". But I digress, this is about Bud!!

Pateryn in for Emelin (wonder if they are just resting him due to the back to back).
Holloway in for Semin.
Condon gets the start (Tokarski tomorrow then???).
Thomas gets a bigger paycheck to sit and watch the game.

The d-men look sloppy tonight.
Logic says Markov needs to have occasional game off to keep him fresh.

Feels like the kind of game where we'll get outplayed and find a way to win anyway, off a couple of opportunistic goals.

9.1, 8.9, 9.5, and 9.9 from the Russian judge. Stempniak claims the gold and a 2 minute PP.

Great save by Schnieder robbing Plecky.

Nice transition pass from Gilbert to Patches for a 2 on 1. The Schnozz makes the save on Pleks.

Highlight reel save by Schneider on Pleks. His only choice was to reach across as far as he could...and Pleks hit dead centre of the mitt.

Boys looking much better as period winds down but Schnieder keeping it scoreless.

See, I disagree with a lot of 'great saves'. Often it's the goalie in desperation mode and the puck gets shot right where it shouldn't. Schneider threw himself to his left with his glove about a foot off the ground. there was space above his glove and below his glove, lots of space. Pleks can't really aim it at this point, you just want to hit the net, preferably at least 6 inches above the ice. He did and it went right into Schneider's glove. Yes, a spectacular save....but desperate and lucky.

Patch's skating stride looks much more normal than it did earlier in the season. Very strong and he's really quick again.

Have the Devils ever played an interesting brand of hockey? They're as boring as they were 20 years ago.

The habs looked alot better as game went on and thus it was more entertaining as well. I was falling asleep in the first 10 minutes.

'Great' suggests the goalie anticipated the shot and left nothing else for the player to do, or had to move his glove several inches to pick off the shot. That's why I used the term 'spectacular'. It looked awesome and was indeed spectacular. That doesn't make it a great save. Just nit picking (or being accurate). I've absorbed some Skillyness.

It was a 2 on 1 what else could he have anticipated? Either a shot by Patches OR a pass over to Plecks. Patches made a perfect pass and Plecks did what he was supposed to do, it was a very well executed play. And still Schnieder made the save coming over as quickly as he did in "anticipation" of the pass and made a super save. What more could he have done to have it considered a great save? Make it look easier? It wasn't an easy save. He put his glove where the puck went. That's a goal 9/10 times.

I guess I just don't understand the rules to waivers ... #confused ... Cheers.

Bad line change, but still it was kind of slow pass and shot that beat Condon.
