No thanks.
The Moore incident sticks in my craw-ford.
He undoubtedly kept it aboil. Without Bettman there as chaperone, he paid no attention to hockey that night, putting goon-after-hitman on the ice until Bertuzzi finished it with one of the most cowardly, brutish attacks in NHL history.
BC recently posted his record in another thread. Not that impressive at all.
Pass.
If we're going to switch coaches, I say it's time for Boucher.

The Moore incident wouldn't in the least keep me from hiring him. I mentioned him, and this link in "the Plan" thread.
His quotes about working with kids, young offensive talent and putting them in positions to do that are huge imo. It's exactly what I want to hear from a prospective coach.

People say all kinds of things when they want a job….usually whatever the prospective employer wants to hear…. Didn't Bergevin say that Therrien was great with younger players, too? Wouldn't Therrien say he was great with younger players….? It's all talk 'til the results come in...

Wouldn't Therrien say he was great with younger players….? It's all talk 'til the results come in... Except that Crawford can and has backed up that commentary. It's not lip service. He demonstrated that he can work with young (and) offensive minded talent in Colorado. He's been coaching Matthews this year, and has shown that again. He didn't put Matthews in a 3rd or 4th line role to start the year. He threw him out there with skill players and said "score goals". As the year has progressed, and Matthews has learned other aspects of the game, Marc has increased his role. Matthews is killing penalties and learning about defensive coverage at the pro level. That sort of experience will go a long way, and should help him adjust to the NHL game even faster. Listen to the interview. He's not patting himself on the back. He's acknowledging that he had a phenomenal player at his disposal. He states that you don't take players who are built to score and play them in other roles. He adds that there are plenty of highly capable defensive players out there (that can't score). He's implying that you shouldn't stifle a young, creative, player that you want to be a scoring leader for you. Let them be that player, and add to their duties as they develop. Instead, we've got a coach who wants Galchenyuk to play with checkers and be responsible before letting him loose. We've all discussed how counter productive that is.
