The assistants are gone as well. This after Murray steps down as GM. Sens fire CameronHe was fired because the team did not do as well as the owner wanted... "Three weeks ago, owner Eugene Melnyk promised “key changes” to the club’s hockey department and this decision doesn’t come as any surprise."

Surprised that goalie coach Wamsley was fired. He'd done great work with Anderson and Hammond.

the owner wanted playoff revenue. some believe the team was good enough to get there and that it was coaching . . . maybe a point to be made. highest scoring player: a d-man. most goals: Hoffman, played a LOT on the 4th line -- not defensive minded enough.
if Julien is available and the Sens snag him the division will have a new leader.

Why are they firing Cameron? The Sens got more points than Montreal and Therrien's still hailed as an excellent coach….
Why don't these other teams follow Montreal's example…we ARE the most successful franchise in NHL history, after all….

That makes Molson Mr. Furley Below is what MB and MT looked like right before they realized they would need to have a press conference

Dorion with music to my envious ears:
"We'll be looking for the Best Coach Available…."

... if Julien is available and the Sens snag him the division will have a new leader. Me thinks you might be correct ... if not the division champs, then pretty darn close ... the Sens, as a team, weren't defensively responsible this year ... that would change if Claude Julien were to get in there ... Cheers.

Oh good. Another team that will bully others and will whine when others fight back--wait, that was WITH Cameron...

Julien, Boucher and Crawford's names all being bantered about. Funny, that was our short list when we thought there was a chance.

I wonder what sort of brakes he puts on EK.... would he be ballsy enough to pull a Therrien? nope On TSN1200 this AM the guys were talking about the need for the Sens to get better defensively and that star players need to be sat in the press box so they understand this and one of the guys said EK is exhibit A of this. Pierre Dorion said the team gave up the 1st goal and was out shot in 51 games last year and he said this was unacceptable. Melnyk was interviewed and said he wants a coach hired for the long term and that they won't hesitate to pay.

Luke Richardson had an meeting with the Sens today, and after that made the decision he's moving on from the organization.

Melnyk was interviewed and said he wants a coach hired for the long term and that they won't hesitate to pay. I know he's the owner and he can say what he wants, but I'm not so sure he'll have candidates lined up outside his door after publicly throwing Dave Cameron under the bus ... besides, Brian Murray was on a budget, so I'd be kind of surprised if he opens the vault for a new coach ... Cheers.
