Even Austen Matthews shouldn't be playing over Galchenyuk. I don't care what your considered...until you play a year in the big league, you're just a prospect.

Words cannot express how little interest I have in this cash grab. If I were a player, I'd decline. Seriously. "Sorry, my focus is being healthy and ready for camp. My priorities are my club team."

I'm actually trying to get interested in the tournament, but I'm just waiting for the start of the regular season, to be honest ... I also want to see if Carey Price gets past September completely healthy ... Cheers.

I'm really liking my wager 6 months ago for the Young Stars at 50-1 to win it all, I think they're 17-1 now. Still a longshot, but I"m pulling for the kids! To me this isn't a World Cup, it's an exhibition, so I couldn't care less if Canada wins. I wish Chucky was playing, but to be honest I'd prefer if no Habs were in it, it's like NFL pre-season, the only thing that can happen is INJURY!!

More than a few players are saying just that. "I can't seem to get rid of this broken back, but it should be ok in 3 weeks for the start of the season".

They're not as strong on the back end as I'd like, but I love the speed and if they can use that properly and take space and time away, not even Carey or King Henry may stop them. And yes, Chucky should be there ahead of RNH, Drouin and Matthews at the very least. Politics, politics.

Not sure what the rules to your wager are, but if you placed a bet at 50-1 that should still be honoured regardless of the updated odds ... I was looking the same for the Blue Jays a few seasons ago (can't remember what year ... maybe 4 years ago ... not sure) and my buddy and I were going to put some money down on the Jays to win the World Series ... I think at one point they might have been, like, 80-1, but we never made the bets ... as an aside, if you haven't been to one of the "Sportsbooks" in Vegas yet, they're really quite something ... we went to the one in Harrahs and I've never seen so much money being bet before ... Cheers.

I feel the same. I just want our guys to be healthy for the reg season. Like it was previously said. Start the season earlier and finish the year with the world championships.

Cheers. No it was online sportsbook, only $15 though wishing i'da bucked up for $50 to really make it exciting. Still really good value because I believe the kids speed and desire may overcome the experience. Just hoping the referees call it fair and not give the vet superstars more leeway. I agree their D may be a bit lacking, but I expect them to have the puck much more than their opponents.

I think they (NA) and Sweden will give Canada the most difficulty. I'd hate to pick any one of them over the other 2, I think its that close. Losing Duncan Keith and Jeff Carter has really hurt Canada's chances IMO.

The National Anthem prior to pro sporting events is dumb in my opinion. It has its place in the Olympics, and World Championships, and even the World Cup of Hockey .... But on a Wednesday evening in an NHL rink, no, I do think so. NHL players are not playing for their countries, in any way shape or form. A great many of them aren't even Canadian or American. I don't mind it on military appreciation nights, and some holidays ... But 40 nights , just cause. No.

Exactly the way I feel & that's why I won't be watching. Too much opportunity for players to get hurt. That's why guys like Keith and Benn opted out. They probably see this tournament for what it is. If Price gets injured during this the season will be lost - again.

I'll get my fix of useless pond hockey sometime during the NHL pre/season, no use wasting/investing time in it now. will I watch any of it? who knows . . . though if I watch a period of the series that'll be more time than I spent watching last year's playoffs.

I wonder if the money sports teams get for their "military appreciation nights" counts as hockey related revenue. If it doesn't and it goes entirely into the owners' pockets, we'll see more and more of them.

That money should be going directly to veterans.

I don't know if it's the same in Canada but I'll give it a look once I have more time ... Cheers.

McDavid, Matthews & Co. put on quite a show at the Videotron Centre in QC. Great decision-making and skill at high speed. A treat to watch.
Looking forward to tonight's Canada/U.S.A. tilt.
