More on the Super Series. Simon Bourque has been named to the Team QMJHL roster. In addition, Noah Juulsen has been named the team captain of Team WHL.
It will be good to see so many Habs' prospects in action during the six games of the series. Sportsnet does broadcast them all, so folks will be able to tune in from coast to coast to coast.

Really good news. I wonder if Sergachev plays on the Ohl team? Or is he eligible only for the Russian team?

He's a dynamic skater. He's racking up the points right now, playing with a lot of confidence. He's a rhd though. He could supplant Pateryn.

That Connor Crisp third round pick is still a puzzle given the players that were still available. Oh well.
Juulsen had the GWG in Tuesday night's big win for the WHL against the Russians. It was a late game in the East on a night where probably nobody other than their parents were watching hockey...there was some political thing happening I believe.

I was looking over the 2008 draft and Montreal's selections (Sportsnet do-over). None of the players we selected played a game in the NHL. To be honest though, we didn't have a first round pick and there were maybe 5-10 good NHL players drafted after our 2nd round pick (Nyquist, Holtby Demers Henrique off the top of my head) Players that were drafted by other teams on the squad today: Pateryn, Redmond, Barberio)

A different theme for the prospects this past weekend. Let's chat 7th rounders!
Jeremiah Addison 7th round, pick 207 in 2015 scored two goals and one assist in Windsor's win tonight. Goals #9 and 10 and the GWG.
Jake Evans 7th round, 207th pick in 2014 had a goal and 2 assists last night in a win against Northeastern. He now has 11 points in 9 games in his third NCAA season.
Arvid Henrikson 7th round, 186th in 2016 had his first J20 Swedish assist. He scored his first J20 goal earlier this season. Big defenseman.

In the Russia / OHL game tonight, Russians are dominating the first half, but McNiven is holding the fort and its still 0-0.

OHL wins 5-2, but he Russians looked more dangerous for many parts of the game. McNiven played the full game and was very solid. Victor Mete was solid as well, and made lots of smart defensive plays. Bitten played a checking role and the PK, had a nice chance early on the PK where he had a one on one, and he finished of the scoring with the EN goal after Russia had controlled the puck for close to 2.5 minutes in the OHL end.
Simon Bourque and the Q are up tomorrow night.

In a couple of the games I thought the Russians have received the short end of the officiating stick.

McNiven is a reactionary goalie, quite the different style than Price. Will be interesting to see what enhancements Waite will make once he turns pro.
He is having a good season. Hockey Canada gave him a good look last night giving him the whole game. Might get an invite to camp in December. Outside shot, but good for an undrafted guy.

Just watched Matt Bradley from the Medicine Hat Tigers smoke Red Deer tonight. Big game from Bradley, with a 2+2 night. That is his third straight two goal game and he now has 27 points in 21 games. Guess he is playing for that entry level deal. The coach had him on for a few late shifts in the third (including on the PP) giving him a chance at the hat trick. It's junior hockey!
First star and getting the post game interview. The Habs are in the house, so putting on a show for the brass.

Fucale with a win tonight to complete a pair of wins B2B this weekend. He is now 4-2 in the ECHL, although his .879 save % and 3.23 gaa seem a bit low and high respectively. I have not seen any games so cannot assess the Beast's overall team. They do host a reasonable .654 winning % even though they only have a goal differential of +2, so they do give up goals.
Mete had two helpers tonight in London's win. Sure looks like both perennial contender London and Host team Windsor are poised for a lot of meaningful hockey this season, which is great for the combined three prospects on those two teams.

A little bit of love for our two prospects in the Dub. Matt Bradley from the Medicine Hat Tigers has awoken offensively of late. 10g 12a in his last 15gp. One of the things that makes Noah Juulsen impressive is his defensive play and his controlled zone exits; the Habs could never use a defender with that skill set right about now. He leads his team with 4.875 per game played and the next guys are nowhere near this mark.

Man, those two controlled spins on his red line were a thing of beauty. Completely confused the fore checker, gave himself a ton of time, then used the net for more as he made the right pass to get out of his end. If only he were a left hander ...

He plays top situational defense for one of, if not the most, defensively-aware coach in the CHL in Kevin Constantine.
