The amount matches what Giordano makes, which is likely what the hold up was in the negotiations. Hard to say who's more valuable to a team, but Gaudreau puts more bums in the seats than Giordano does. Seems fair overall.

Flames only bought one UFA year. I think Johnny would have signed a max deal if the money was right, but he'll be 29 and a UFA which means he can really cash in if his game is still sharp.
