Pens being quiet about cause, but it's thought to have occurred at practice on Friday.

I'm not so sure I believe that it occurred at practice on Friday. I'm pretty sure the Penguins don't practice in a vacuum, and they'd have people watching the practice and videoing. We'd have seen a video of the incident by now. The fact we haven't leads me to believe the Pens are hiding something.
Here are some thing I have been pondering over:
1) No one on the Pens is going to check SC86. Perhaps he got hit with an errant shot. If so, why not just say that.
2) If it DID occur at practice and it was just from normal play. UH-OH. Now there is a problem and a reason to hide it. That is the scary scenario, not knowing how it happened, not having a benchmark.
3) There is a high likelihood that this could have occurred during the World Cup. Again, lots of reason there to hide it. Why wasn't it diagnosed earlier, did Crosby know and play through it, ... what game may it have occurred in?
I wish him well. I hope he makes a full recovery and makes his way back to the ice. However, he has to start thinking about the quality of his life after hockey, especially if they can not figure out how this one occurred.

Some have linked it to a hit he took from Roman Josi at the WC.

How many concussions has he had to this point ... Cheers. As a pro, two before this one I believe. The extended absence was attributed to whiplash.

Watched TSN last night & he was practicing. Seems like the wrong thing to do when you're concussed.

That's because his judgment is impaired.
