I don't think any of the ones worth going after are available at much of any price. :/ It's going to be steep. #1 center hardly ever get traded. Probably will cost Galchenyuk and Gallagher. I'd either go big like for a Taveres or step down to a Henrique and switch #1 picks with Devils to get Vilardi. He played good game last night. Sergachev not so good While I'm certainly open to entertaining the idea of Tavares, the problem isn't so much the cost of the trade itself but how much he'll cost to extend. He's been signed to a very favorable contract, but that will change in 2018. He's going to cost Kane/Toews money to sign. So, you get one affordable season, and then a contract that makes it very hard to keep wingers around for him to be his most successful AND keep Price. So, it's a big concern for me. He knows first hand what it's like to be largely a man alone with the Islanders. On the open market, he's going to get $9-10 million easily. I wouldn't trade for him without some sort of extension in place either. Henrique is a non-starter for me. He's at best a lateral move imo. I certainly wouldn't entertain trading much for him. I'd rather keep what it would take in trade, and spend his contract amount on Shipachyov. The only centers I would make a concerted push for, and being willing to part with Sergachev, are the likes of Forsberg, Barkov, Monahan, maybe MacKinnon; guys that are entering their primes, signed to long term deals for in the $6 million range, can help now and long term, and aren't a career's worth of games older than Sergachev.

Getting a star isn't going to be cheap that is for sure. Friedman was on last night saying there is a chance Isles may trade Taveres. Instead of lose him for nil next year

Instead of lose him for nil next year I'd trade patches for Tavares.. . Not sure what else we'd have to give up but patches will cost us regardless when his contract is up. Tavares & Galchy down the middle would be nice... it's a pipe dream...

You upgrade yourself at the center position. Maybe you leave Galch on the left wing, bring in Ship and Dad on deals comparable to Panarin's first deal (after bonuses), and you likely still have money for Radulov.
