Not thrilled. Likened to Jordan Staal. Bland, bland, bland. Having said that I know nothing about him.

His uncle was drafted by Habs in 77. He fumbled interview with Sloan and said Toronto before correcting himself lol. I think there might be some more offense in him, but I definitely see him as a 2/3 center, likely the latter.

Poehling is skilled, but there are questions about his top end and his quickness in skating.

He was a really young guy in the NCAA. Youngest in his league. Lots of room to keep developing. Leader, character...yup.

U.S. college hockey players, well, we have seen a few a those before. Development may refine his strengths and improve some of his weaknesses. Time will say, but it would surprise me very much if he becomes a 2C in the NHL.
I imagine that he plays one or two more seasons at St. Cloud.

Berg wanted a big centre. I wanted skill and speed. We will see tomorrow. I had Poehling going earlier than us, but wanted a bit more jazz.
I will wait and see how he develops. Tough thing he is on a team that is hard to watch.

Think how Skilly feels. An NCAA pick. So we might see this guy in 5 years? If he does his full pull in the ncaa does he not just become a ufa? So if he wants his degree and develops into something we could lose him for nothing? I can't remember how that rule works

I can't remember how that rule works We have his rights through his full NCAA career. It is the guys that go one year in the USHL after being drafted that can go UFA after four years, which would be one year before finishing college. We will have his rights until August 15th after he finishes up school. The Habs can sign him earlier, of course. Then he has to leave school as he would no longer be NCAA eligible.

Lots of pretty enticing players still on the table. I think the real good ones will all be gone by the time we pick at 56, unless we package picks and move up. We still have some good possibilities with those two late seconds and the early third...there are decent players in this draft.

Dallas picks Robertson at 39. Big body sniper. He had my interest.

Keep dropping Lipanov and Ikonen.

There goes Lipanov. At 76. Rats. Not surprised that TBL took him. They like drafting these Euro kids.
