Trent McCleary. One of those "I don't want to see it again" injuries. Very close to not making it. Tried a comeback, but the injury/surgery had compromised his air intake.
===============================================
A win tonight, and we'll have clawed back to .500 with an 8-3-0 run.
Good luck, boys....

Cheers.

At the moment Columbus is depleted down the middle. But the man in net is at the top of his game and the d-corps is outstanding too. It should be a tough game.

Wish we would call up Jerabek. He's +12, playing for Syl that is saying something. I think he will move puck more than Mete. Mete is just spinning his wheels here. He should go back to Junior...play in WJC.

Davidson tries to block the point shot and there's room for a Jacket behind him to get a point blank shot. 1-0 Columbus.

Good grief, either Davidson or Morrow bomb an absolute hot potato pass at Galchenyuk and instead of just redirecting it out of the zone he tries to control it but miscontrols it for a turnover and Columbus goal.

Nice pass by Morrow, right to a Columbus player. I think we’re getting to see the Bad D tonight. Earlier Alzner tried a spinorama and lost the puck. Great examples if the D which is so much better than last year’s.

Julien on the horns of a dilemma. Alzner or Morrow. Who should I send out for the PK?

My, my. We take ourselves out in the Columbus zone on the PP allowing a clearing. Can’t seem to do anything right in this period.

This paints to be a frustrating night and one far too easy for Bobrovsky.

That was nice, $10+ million dollar d-pair (Alzer and Petry) with multiple opportunities to skate or pass into the neutral zone and yet they end up trapped in their own zone for almost 60 seconds.

Better than last year. Yes I know this is repetitive but the gall of the GM to make that statement deserves beating a dead horse.

I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that Byron is terrible on breakaways ... You have no one within 15 feet and your best move is to shoot. Deke him inside out, make him move ...

What the #%^* is Hudon and Byron doing on the PP ... The puck dies with them both

I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that Byron is terrible on breakaways ... You have no one within 15 feet and your best move is to shoot. Deke him inside out, make him move ... That was the knock on him in Calgary. He did quite well after being picked up by Berg....especially in the shoot-out. But that mojo sure seems to be fading. I'd settle for more of his Johnny-on-the-spot goals.

He could have tried to use his body to stop it first but that puck appeared to be a foot off the ice. Davidson made a bad pass and then a poor attempt to front Anderson. You can't let the puck through if that's your choice. No reason Jerabek shouldn't be called up.

DLR waited too long to shoot at that height. At the top of the net, and it's a goal.
Nice save nonetheless.

De La Rose has a wide open net and waits too long ... Easy to tell he isn't used to scoring

This is something to see from Bobrovsky here. Pacioretty fights off no fewer than three Blue Jackets to get to the net and is stoned twice.

They never showed a replay that convinced me that he even touched that puck ... In my mind Davidson muffed the pass, and then muffed the blocked shot

DLR shows why he’s such a poor scorer. Gets a great pass with a literally empty net and instead of first timing it he collects the puck and gives Bobrovsky time to get back. Seventeen’s second rule ( after roofing it). Always first time it. A weak first timer is way better than a strong slow shot.
