Vejdemo seems to be adapting to the NA rink and pace. Solid game so far from him.
Bitten was flying that period.
Brook with another solid outing.

Those are the 3 guys who stood out to me. I want to see Kotkaniemi play with some better guys and see if he stands out more. It brought back memories of myself playing soccer with people who were not very experienced. I played like crap because I had no idea what they were going to do, where they were going, nada. It was senseless and the most important goal was to simply not get hurt.
On to regular training camp where hopefully we'll get a better idea of these guys. One guy I didn't like at all was #90, Martineau. Couldn't hit the ocean off the proverbial pier, despite somehow getting open a lot.

Very exciting watching a new generation of mediocre habs prospects failing to score

I was talking with a dad and a couple of moms at my son's practice yesterday and one of things we were talking about was how our mites were learning a lot practicing against the older squirts. Of course, where I am going with this is not perfectly compatible since there is no checking in those youth divisions. Nevertheless, my basic point is hockey players facing an uphill challenge physically (size and speed) and experientially (situational awareness, processing speed, etc.) are able to learn and improve provided that it is all about skating, skill and sportsmanship.
Moving up to the world of the development camp and rookie showcase phenomena in the NHL, there are kids who barely turned 18 going against guys age 22 with two seasons experience in the AHL. It is one thing to stretch the legs, showcase some skill, and build cohesion/teamwork. But it is another thing entirely to have kids looking for big hits. For me these development camps and rookie tournaments should be played the way 'friendlies' are played in international futbol.

Good on Bouchard... enough of skating away like princesses... sick of it.
