What in the world was Melnyk talking about this week when he proclaimed that starting in 2021 the Ottawa Senators will commence with five years of unparalleled success? Selling hope where there is none... unless someone with deep pockets buys tge club. It's amazing how he does the majority of his press in Toronto... if I was a Sens fan I'd be pissed. naw, the farther away the better. |

Jets played better but were goalied. I still think they should take a bus or a train. The hockey gods have abandoned them.
I like Maurice. He was trying to take the pressure off the players for a bad outing with those comments.

Ducks fired Carlyle today. GM Murray to take over as interim coach for rest of season. Dallas Eakins is currently coaching their farm team, and Murray has said he didn't want to bring him in mid season.

Boston was probably already assembling a package to go after Panerin, Stone or Simmonds. And now Don Sweeney is facing at least three weeks without Pasternak (damaged his thumb in non-hockey accident and underwent surgery today).
I know that Nash did not really pay big dividends last spring, but one has to imagine the Bruins management feels pressure to get Krecji a goal scorer.

While channel flipping before the Habs game starts tonight, I saw Tkachuk fight Detroit's big veteran d-man Ericsson. It did not go well for the kid. He needs to put some meat on those bones.

It is beyond easy comprehension how Edmonton made itself so bad that even in the pathetic Western Conference wild card race they are not even going to sniff the playoffs.
Carolina is getting solid play in net in 2019, Buffalo not so much (whichever Sabres goalie was in there last night let in a couple of absolute howlers).

I think it was Ullmark in for Buffalo last night.
Bruce Boudreau must be wondering about Dubnyk. They blew a 3rd period lead & then Dubnyk had a brutal brain cramp in OT that led to a win for NJ.

I was just listening to Don Cherry going off on Carolina's post-game on-ice celebrations. Man, I hate to say it but I agree with him.
