Be interesting to see where he ends up. I expect someone will take a flyer on him for a prorated deal between 850k and 1 million. If he bombs you can dump him. I don't know if he'd be a fit or not. He's not very quick and doesn't play much of a 200ft game. At this point, he's a 30 something Galchenyuk.

Jeje, I had never heard that he was lying about his age all these years. Of course, whether he is 36 years old or 38 is somewhat immaterial because he is too slow to play any significant role in the NHL.
Having said that, I would not mind seeing him as a fourth liner and a power play specialist for the remainder of this season and this season alone. I mean, Kovalchuk at 25 percent of what he once was is vastly superior power play weapon than Weal. Obviously, it is not happening because there is no fit from either side. Kovalchuk would logically pick a contender if one wants him. And Julien is very picky about his fourth liners and nothing about the Russian's player profile would interest the Coach.
