Not that I would rule it out given the quirky nature of that organization, jeje, but are we sure that photo was taken this week?
I am no expert on such matters, but could the masks be a creation of Photoshop? There are like over 50 people packed together in that photo and I am not sure the league would want all those people in close proximity considering they are making players use the dressing room eight at a time during Phase 3.

It's just Carolina being a bunch of jerks again ... It's their persona now. Anything to get a rise

I'd like to see them do an after game celebration without fans in the seats. THAT, I'd enjoy.

Well that is a relief, jeje. Godspeed, Sid.
One thing that has me a little mystified is the way a segment of the media (Engels, Zadarnowski, and the Corsi crowd) continues to repeat over and over again how the Habs are an exceptionally strong even strength hockey team and how if they merely figure out their weak power play and penalty kill they are not inferior to Pittsburgh.
Based on Valiquette's work, as well as Andrew Berkshire's on Sportsnet, I am more convinced than ever that many of the 'high quality' scoring chances Montreal creates are not really high quality because the goalie is set when the shot is taken.
And the only numbers that matter (how many goals you score versus how many goals you surrender) do not support the idea that Montreal is an even strength juggernaut. The Habs finished tied for 12th place in the league with a +7 at five on five hockey. And in reality the entirety of that positive ledger was created by a single line (Tatar-Danault-Gallagher). The corollary to this story is that all season long the Habs' second, third and fourth lines were consistently bad regardless of whether guys like Suzuki and Evans are mid-50s in the CF%

I laughed when I read your 1st paragraph; not at you but at guys like Engels. All they have to do is figure out why their special teams are so crappy? That's it?
OK then. Things would have been a lot different if Engels had only pointed this out 5 years ago.

Engels is a classic sycophant. He tells his stories along the lines that don’t rock the boat with the Group CH PR overlords. He wants to keep his team access, get his favoured spot in the interview line, and get the game day media buffet perks. I wish he would just challenge the status quo for once. That is why I so value the work of Basu and Godin behind the Athletic paywall. The classic example was the three takes on Molson’s lame duck presser a month ago. Only one supported it and even labelled the media guy who started the Damphousse POHO rumour as a pariah. Two others took shots at the Molson and it’s content, and the need for fresh blood to get rid of the obvious group think within management. No bonus points for guessing who was who.

The Athletic doesn't pull any punches. They're pretty balanced overall, but they aren't afraid to describe a team's warts. Does that affect their access? I don't know, but I value their stuff (Basu/Godin) a lot and I will continue to pay my subscription for access to them and to the Raptors guys on the Ahtletic. Well worth paying for independent opinions.

I'm a big fan of the Atlantic as well for the coverage of all my teams including the Habs but not sure that I buy the notion that Basu is critical of them. Maybe when it's obvious but most of the time it's fluff. Don't get me wrong, the same can be said for all who cover sports teams these days but I can go back to the start of this Hab board and find five "pretend writers" who wrote better and more critical columns on a weekly basis

If I wrote articles on the Habs, I'd have to be looking over my shoulder for those contracted ninjas. Molson would spend money on that, if not the team.

Boston, Tampa Bay, the Capitals and Philadelphia in the East and St. Louis, Colorado, the Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas in the West finished in that order when the season stopped in March, but that’s almost meaningless now. They will be sorted 1-4 by conference depending on each team’s next three games with regular-season success factoring in only as a tiebreaker link

Not to stick up for Boston because I hate them like no other team in the league (and it really is not close), but they kind of get screwed with this round robin reseeding. I mean, really, they were ahead of the second best team in the East by 10 points after 70-72 games.
I know all the top teams in both conferences need tune up games to be ready for the round of 16. But something about it seems half-baked.

I can't believe you used the term "half-baked" regarding the NHL. hold it . . . let me rephrase that: I can't believe you credited the NHL by calling it only "half-baked".
