[ Or maybe he actually has some legitimate health reasons for not playing. That's probably the truth, but where is the fun in that? I believe in boiling. Like in boiling away the solvent in order to find the solids. Alzner is pretty much done in the league. By his action, he knows he's DOA for any future in the NHL and figured out that there is no benefit for him to participate. So he wont. Speaks volumes of Bbinz being able to spot "character" and sign them for half a decade. Any day now, I'm going to write the sequel to Lions In Winter. The working title for now is...."Mouses in Montreal".

Phase 2 and 3 are the most complicated because guys are showing up from who knows where (U.S., Sweden, Russia) and basically the lockdown does not start until they get to Toronto.
I guess the Habs are not the first to encounter issues. Apparently St. Louis has a handful of guys who are now quarantined and recovering.
This news might help the doctors and Domi arrive at the conclusion that he should stay away.

That could be what is behind Domi's hesitation. Maybe he wants to see if others are also positive. If everybody arrives and nobody else tests positive he could come back into a clean room. Or maybe, as folatre says, he's concerned about his next contract. Maybe it's both.

I'd be "ordering" Alzner and the rest of the bubble-boys to play, it may be their only/last chance in the SC playoffs . . . "it's an honour to play". I know, I know . . . "anything can happen in the playoffs" 🙄 If I'm part of this tournament I'd be chomping at the bit to get this going because this is the kind of tournament that enables the 'anything-can-happen-in-the-playoffs' mindset ... not time for slumps or excuses, it's either you're ready or you're not ... those teams who aren't ready will probably wonder what hit them ... anyway, I suspect les boys will be uber-jacked to get the games going ... not so sure my gaff is quite there just yet ... Cheers.

33 players (including Romanov and Domi) on the training camp roster. They will have to trim by at least two.

I hope the Pens demolish them, last thing we need is a truck load of horseshoes helping a dysfunctional management team at the Ding Dong Centre keep their jobs and keep us in Cup purgatory for at least another decade

Something interesting news. Now, it does not mean the players test positive, but it shows how easily a team could be shut down in the actual playoffs. Oh yeah, and this is our play-in opposition.

Ouellet, Brook and Kulak not on the ice today for the first day of camp. Here are the lines.

If the Pens drop out and we automatically advanced I am going to be furious....no way they should have a chance at Laf.

Yup. I'm looking forward to Bettman awarding the Cup to the last team able to field a full team. And it's 50% odds that the team being awarded would actually be trailing in its current series... Imagine PIT ahead 2-0 in our 3 of 5, and they have to forfeit....

Andrew Shaw opting out. This seems like an eminently logical decision given his long history of concussions.

It is a completely contrived setup where good teams can be eliminated by Covid, not their play on the ice. Awarding a Cup under those circumstances would be a travesty & the NHL should slink away in shame.

Brook on the ice today. Ouellet and Kulak still “unfit to practice”.

So it looks as though every game the Habs play against the Penguins will occupy the prime time 8 pm slot. Bettman wants Crosby to drive ratings among neutral fans all over North America. Jeje, the refs may have to call things tightly to keep Sid on television beyond Labour Day.

After four months away from hockey, two weeks to gear up and then play do or die games seems like precious little time to actually be prepared physically. And while I certainly do not begrudge Domi taking his time on such a serious decision, I cannot help but wonder how he could actually get ready to play NHL hockey in a single week.

Byron did not practice today. Danault was not with the main group of players. Ouellet and Kulak continue to be unavailable.
Engels was saying today that maybe Domi's decision gets pushed back a bit and maybe he just ends up joining up with the boys in Toronto on the 26th.
I still have a hard time understanding how a guy who has not played hockey since March 10 is going to be ready to play do or die hockey games with no camp or anything to acclimate him in terms of timing and physical grind.
