It's on Sportsnet now. Even the announcers were questioning WTF Tremblay was doing.
He wasn't pulled until the score was 9-1. He walked past Tremblay & took a seat. Then he got up, walked by Tremblay & had his chat with Corey.

We were having drinks with friends in a pub called "The Sergeant's Pump" ... all I remember was, every time I looked up at one of the TVs the Red Wings were celebrating again and again ... it was too bad Patrick Roy's tenure ended that night ... he admitted later that he'd have probably stayed if there were more dialog ... as an aside, the pub is no longer open and one of the owners, Jack Higgins, ended up being a scout for the Bruins ... he was let go once the Bruins brought in Keith Gretzky and his crew ...
Cheers.

I think what happened at this game was Roy was not himself. As he told Mike Vernon the morning before he had to get out of Montreal. Because of the pressure to win. Sounds like he was stressed. Wings at the time had a explosive offense. Both things came together and led to an embarrassment for Roy. Put Roy over the edge, and we all witnessed the meltdown of Patrick Roy.
Goalies are a wildcard. Carey Price when he gets over tired is not the goalie he normally is. If something is not right, they can get severely off track.

I had watched that game a couple of years ago and at the time remembering Montreal had some injuries and their defense were just terrible that night. Detroit were also just at their peak and flying. After the first Montreal had no chance of winning that game so Roy should have been taken out then and rested for the next one. Trembly had it out for Roy and was rubbing his nose in it while laughing on the inside.

Patrick had the last laugh though. Not only did he win more Stanley Cups, but his departure ensured that Tremblay went down as one of the worst coaches the team has ever had. What a mess. Ron 'the idiot' Corey.
