It's still one week away ... just trying to get motivated for the return of hockey, which has been difficult for me to do ...
Cheers.

I am not sure about the quality of hockey next Tuesday, but Dis' GDT is looking good as usual.
I think I heard on the radio this morning that Romanov, along with Sorokin (NYI) arrived in Toronto. It is a shame he could not have had his visa in hand like two weeks ago, in order to partake in a portion of Phase 3 in Montreal. If Pittsburgh dispatches Montreal quickly, poor Romanov may not get to enjoy more than a handful of practices alongside his new mates.

Not a fan of having exhibition games before this ... The NFL are contemplating eliminating their pre-season. The less games the less chance of transmission ...

You're right Skilly. It would make sense to keep contact at a minimum. Then again, it would also make sense not to play in Toronto, which is still stuck in phase 2 of the recovery plan. The league was determined to go there, helped along the way by chief cheerleader, Mayor John Tory. Tory BTW, thought the NHL plan was a good one while Bonnie Henry in Vancouver turned it down. Who are you going to take medical advice from? Tory also thought there was nothing wrong with the Jays roster & the rest of the American League crossing and re-crossing the border numerous times to complete their 60 game season.

A 60 game baseball season and twisted house league NHL playoffs in a TV sound stage without fans makes no sense; especially when kids cant go to school and thousands of people are dying. How important is it to ensure that Molson doesn’t go broke and let Bergevin celebrate his improving team making the playoffs. The Uber drivers and brasserie waiters get nothing while Sebastian Aho saves his escrow account. Toronto Boo Jays are Canada’s team in Buffalo while real people face the hardships of closed borders and lost jobs. Am i missing something, because my priorities are way off?

European soccer managed to finish regular seasons without incident. There's still the Champions League to finish though, so you never know.

I feel relatively confident about the bubbles. But given what is going on in many states in the U.S., I have no idea that the NHL will be able to safely open the 2020-21 season in December if the idea is to follow with the MLB and NFL idea of no lock down quarantine for the players and all of the teams traveling here, there, and everywhere.

Well, i haven't been this excited about a Habs exhibition game since playing the Soviets in the 70s. This may be the longest I've gone without watching a real time hockey game since I was a kid.
It's always good to beat the leafs under any circumstances but what I'm really intrigued by is KK. I'm so hoping he is back to his rookie year play. I'm also curious (altho don't hold out much hope) to see how Drouin plays. There's been a lot of coverage about how he is now injury free and will pick up his good play from the beginning of last year.
Ultimately I want Lafrenier, so losing to the Pens is fine. But beating the Leafs in this memorable game and seeing KK, Suzuki an Domi play well in the series will make me feel good going into 'the summer break'.
Biggest concern for me is Poehling and his inability to get into the line up. I'm hoping it is just CJ's neanderthal stubbornness. I see this 4th line of Domi, Weal, and Weise lasting 2 games max. CJ's spin about it not being a 4th line is just that- spin. Weal and Weise are 4th liners, at best. CJ can play Weal on the PP all he wants but that don't make him an offensive threat - his 5 points on the PP all year confirm that.

Our problem has been lack of talent on the first and second lines. The only stars we see are those when our 5’7” forwards are hit by their 6’4” forwards and defensemen.

The sign of an NBC game , the late start. Does NBC mean more McGuire? Believe it or not, the first start time had been 4 PM, then it changed to 8 PM sometime later this week ... they also changed their network coverage from SN to SN1 ... I'll be tuning in tonight, in front of a fan, jumbo freezie in hand ... Cheers.

Yeah, I think all of the games against Pittsburgh are 8 pm starts on NBC. I have no idea if McGuire is part of the broadcasting team in the Toronto bubble.
For viewers in the U.S., I believe tonight's game in on the NHL network.

The timing for the game and the networks it'll be on are both in the GDT, guys ... as I was saying to JKR, I had some updating to do because the NHL website changed some figures, but it's been current for a few days now ...
Cheers.

I'm gradually getting back into hockey ... we'll see how it goes ... here's some other info released ~ an hour ago ...

I don't have SN1 so I'll try TVA. But to be honest, I wasn't tuning in for full games before the season stopped so I won't be watching all off this one.
