Just saw Drouin in a Lays commercial... he's well qualified... he lays an egg most nights I've never seen any fire in his game. There doesn't seem to be any internal drive & it's hard to see what Bergevin as in him. Bergevin saw the great French hope... he's turned into the great French hopeless... just sad we gave up a top pair left D for that waste of talent...

Kulak has played well, but that was a big booboo.

Guess that's it for tonight. A strong goaltending performance wasted by the popgun offense.

Tatar looks like he is playing like he is afraid to get injured ....
Defensive breakdown and its 2-0 Pitts ...
The next team to win by not scoring will be the first

Petry keeps it in & strong work by Lekhonen to hold the puck. JK scores on rebound.

I don't know if Julien has noticed, but Perhaps he should put out his top goal scorer for the final minute.

Textbook interference at the blueline on Suzuki not called. What a surprise. This league is BS. If that was Crosby going down there would be a call.

Price cannot win all by himself. Carey Price has carried the franchise on his back for a decade ... he's (still) our best player and has been for a while ... he didn't look too impressed whenever the camera centred on him tonight ... Cheers.

If we had Tortz or Maurice as coach, the league would hear about it... not Bill Dautrieve... tired of the same old same old... rely on goaltending... roll 4 lines, play not to lose... there needs to be a house cleaning... it wont happen, not with Geoffey in charge...

Tatar has been invisible ...so has Armia ... I have seen a lot of lazy, bad turnovers by Tatar and lazy penalties from Armia. Offensively...zilch. All three regulation goals by 20 year olds.

Tatar has a contract for 2020-21 so I am not sure why he is playing not to get injured if that is the case. The only guys on the Habs in the lineup tonight who do not have a contract for next season were Domi, Mete, Weise, and Ouellet.

Bergevin saw the great French hope... he's turned into the great French hopeless... just sad we gave up a top pair left D for that waste of talent... The warning signs were there and many posters on this very board pointed them out. I didn’t mind the deal at the time but it’s not my job to do due diligence for the Habs. The team badly needed scoring and Bergevin chose Drouin over Radulov. Not directly of course But when contract time came up there’s no way Berg’s expectations for JD didn’t factor in. It’s especially strange since MB is such a good judge of character. 😇

I’d do that every time to a skilled player. You have to eliminate the give and go. Course it can’t be late or that is interference. edit: All I saw was a highlight and only the tail end so missed the kneeing part.

Sergachev is a rare asset -- a big, skilled, very mobile d-man who can quarterback a power play. Drouin is quite gifted but as a small, skilled, pass first wing he is a less rare asset in the big scheme of things. I disliked that trade from the start.

Again, I am okay trading Domi if the return is really nice and/or if Domi is totally unwilling to play on the wing. But I hope things can be worked out with Domi and two of the other small forwards (Tatar, Drouin, Byron, Weal) with almost no sandpaper can be moved in the near term.

Id love to know what the pro scouting dept thought at the time. Or if they were consulted. Or what Timmins thought. As time goes along it’s interesting to weigh those ‘stunning’ deals of MB’s. During the Canucks game yesterday Dean Evason was quoted as saying he doesn’t know about Chucky’s history with other teams, but he’s done everything Evason has asked of him. He might even have been centering the 3rd line, though I won’t guarantee that. His defense has improved a lot, supposedly. Domi of course, continues to make an impact 🤭. Good first impressions have softened. Suzuki looks like a gem do that deal was good. The Drouin deal? No reply required. Subban for Weber? Still up in the air IMO. I live transition so it’s hard for me to get on the Weber bandwagon, but he’s a good dman. IF PK is healthy though, I’d prefer him. Four points in his last 5 games this spring so he should be interesting to follow next season. Especially if Hughes produces. The one thing I can be sure if is that the line about Bergevin never losing a trade should be put to bed. Even the best GM’s lose trades and Bergie is not in that class.

Yeah, Bergevin has won quite a number of trades (Danault was a steal), though sadly nothing that changed the complexion of the roster in an impactful way thus far (that could change if Suzuki becomes a 70 point top six centre). This is still a non-playoff calibre team unless Price can stand on his head week after week and month after month.
There remains future seasons to watch. However, at his point in time, I think it looks rather clear that no GM in the league would prefer Drouin on his roster over Sergachev and it really is not even close.

Domi glided when a couple more strides means he can interfere on the goal. That's why I don't want him at center. If we flip Drouin and Domi, and then just don't play the 4th line, we've got a decent enough lineup... -- Anyone else can't stand the TVA broadcast ? They bring nothing to the game, a computer generated lineup on screen telling me who is on the ice would be more informative.
