Cool thread, Dis. It is kind of strange that the 1998 playoff win over the Pens was the first series Montreal had won since the 93 Cup run.
Price has made this a series despite Montreal being outplayed by a fair margin. Are the boys good enough, hard enough, or smart enough to help him?
The Habs winning tomorrow would certainly not guarantee punching a ticket to the Playoffs, but the Habs losing game three would all but guarantee a return to lakeside campfires and golfing.

I am fine with them losing. I am not interested in rewarding incompetence from the management and coaching staff... I feel bad for the players but this team cannot win the cup, so better to lose the next 2 games.

So Claude says that any lineup changes will be game time decisions.
Ooh, the secrecy and mystery of it all. Claude channeling his inner Robert Ludlum. Zzzzzzzzz.

As if Sullivan is wringing his hands worrying about which marginal players Claude is going to swap. It's just their culture. I certainly don't espouse giving the opposition any information they can use against me or insight into my strategy (like my draft list). Somehow, even if I personally wouldn't divulge any line-up or line combination changes, somehow when the Habs do it seems petty. That's probably because they don't tell you anything, even about injuries that will have healed completely by the time the player returns, negating any risk of the opposition knowing about it.
"The team's departure to the rink will be a pre game time decision".
That's the kind of stuff that is so annoying and results in criticism of even expected, natural decisions. You wonder what they're trying to hide. You can bet Julien has decided on lineup changes, or different line combinations, and he shouldn't disclose them to us. So why not just say that? ""Yes, we've decided on some changes, but obviously, I can't tell you what they are, so please don't ask about them. Speculate away."

Cool thread, Dis. It is kind of strange that the 1998 playoff win over the Pens was the first series Montreal had won since the 93 Cup run. Thanks, mate ... those were tough days back then, both on and off the ice ... our team on the ice, humbled the Habs fan base off the ice and it's been a pattern ever since ... Carey Price is being paid to be the team's best player, and he's doing exactly that right now ... I know of a few hockey fans, but who have no interest in the tournament at all ... me? I'm watching the team, but just as soon as they're done, then I'm done with the tournament ... it will be interesting to see if MLB finishes their season, but I'll be watching the Blue Jays ... they're not there yet, but they have a young, exciting team ... Cheers.

It seems obvious that Domi needs to play 5 v 5 with better linemates regardless of whether he is on the wing or at centre.

So it looks like Evans in for Weal amounts to the only lineup change.

That was a nice rush by the Kotkaniemi line and Weber skated hard and picked up a tasty scrap.

There it is, a pass right through the royal road. Why can't the Habs power play do that?

A vet like Weber cannot be drawn into taking a stupid penalty like that.

Drouin of all cats! Make a game of it.
KK wins the draw and makes a good play on the wall. No assist, but got ‘er done.

Bettman may like to see three or four Pens' power plays in the third period given the crazy disparity in favor of the Habs thus far. At some point, Montreal's penalty kill shuts the door, no? The law of averages say so...
