I dunno, guys. Drouin was a killer in junior. His playoff stats are pretty unreal. He had a history of putting his team on his back and showing up when it counted. He showed the same mentality in TB during the 2015/16 playoffs. I wouldn't say that effort is his problem, either. It's not like we never see him turn on the jets. The problem that I see in his game is self doubt. Imo, this self doubt really crept into his game when we played him at center and expected him to be the team's saviour. What a confidence buster that must be. I don't think we can write off any player that has that killer instinct. He came out roaring to start 2019 after finishing the season before on a low. He'll be able to turn this setback into a comeback too. That being said... I'm not sure if it's worthwhile to hang onto a player who has these high/low swings. Nobody wants a high maintenance multi-millionaire. Are you suggesting that Julien is working his KK magic on Drouin as well? Hmmmm....I wonder.

Well, start of Game 3. We'll see what they have. As much have said, to me the biggest disappointments have been Julien (no surprise) and Tatar (again, no surprise). The coaching has been so bad though. It all started in the exhibition game when Clod didn't think to at least try a 6 on 4 at the end, if for no other reason then practice. Add on the lines, ice time, pp efficiency...good grief. And Tatar, ugh. never a fan. If he's not scoring, he brings less then nothing. JK has been very good and given no chance. Why he was on the bench to end game 2 is disturbing. Like to see Evans in the lineup...but why Weise still. I'm worried Price is due for a shaky game but let's see what tonight brings.
Go Habs Go!

Maturing of Koktaniemi and Suzuki gives team quite a boost. Lack of offense at center been black hole of Calcutta for a decade or more. I've heard many successful GMs say strength down the middle is important concept of team. We look different than mid season team.
Weber and Price played well. Weber 25 minutes last night. He plays a lot of hard minutes. Generally against top offensive opponents. His hard work ethic is rubbing off on Chiarot and Petty. He did same to Josi and Ekholm.
Drouin i thought played better. Maybe he needs to get offensive center. In junior he was star with MacKinnon. Was Tampa's best player in '16 playoffs. Can't remember who he played with, imagine Johnsin? Either way shows the skill is there.
Even if we lose this series. Can start to see components of team coming together. Strength at offensive center, new big 3 on D and Price is back to his old self.
Sun could be setting on Pens dynasty team. Swept last year and look flat this game. Been 16 years since Malkin was drafted. Time is drawing near
