The last time the Habs and Flyers faced each other in an afternoon playoff game was in 2010's ECF. Game 4 in Montreal.
After a strong 5-1 win in Game 3, it was hoped that the Habs had finally solved Leighton and would pour it on.
In terms of living up to the hope/hype, with a chance to tie the series at 2, I recall either laying an egg or hitting the proverbial over-achieving wall. We managed just 17 shots...and Leighton got his 3rd shutout of the series.
===================================
Notable about that Flyers' playoff year...they were down 0-3 to the Bruins in Round 2. Needed OT to win Game 4.
In Game 7, Boston had a 3-0 lead...and the Flyers mounted a 4-3 comeback to complete the 4-3 series comeback.

I wonder if any lineup changes are in the plans for today. Domi got his minutes (I think he was 7th among Habs forwards) but his nominal linemates (Belzile and Weise) played very sparingly. Would the coaches contemplate getting Evans or Weal or Hudon in there? Or if the fourth line wingers are total non-factors, then maybe they move Domi up higher earlier in a what feels like a must-win game.

Suzuki with top line still. Third line same. Armia on fourth with Evans and Belzile.

Habs playing like whirling Dervishesvwhich raises 2 questions. Can they keep it up or will they die off after the 1st? Can they build up a big enough lead before the legs start to give out?

Big effort thus far...but...My kingdom for some finish... I know, they need to get out of the first with more goals to match this effort.

DECLARATION BY MY BETTER HALF!
If we win this series, we win the cup.
(I deny any responsibility for that statement! Although I WANT to believe it!)

Hayes has had 2 very good looks & missed the net on both. How did he ever get that huge contract?

Way to go Tatar. Kill the momentum. An O zone penalty on the PP.

Montreal's two power play have literally been the only things that have stopped great momentum this period.

Curiously....I looked up Suzuki's family history. He's five times removed from the enviro Suzuki. Thank God.... Right now, until we get Dubois in that offer he can not refuse, he's our defacto 1C. Kk moving to 2C and Danault into 3C is our wet dreams. The only disappointment is Poehling, but it's far, far too early to write him off. Until the boys cement their future with 70-80 point seasons, or prove beyond a doubt by going deep into the playoffs, I'm going to shy away from declaring our center position is solved for a generation.

Whoo-boy, that was a real mens against boys period right there.
I think it's going to be Carey time now. I don't expect Philly to be that flat the rest of the way, so he's going to have to excel. In true NHL fashion I expect a slew of penalties against us now, especially after that last weak one drawn by Domi.
