Some good stuff last night from the kids.

Sherbrooke were smoked 7-1, but the only bright spot was Roy’s 39th goal and 98th point. Nice shot!

Kidney had a goal and an assist. He now has 86 points.

Kapanen had a goal and two assists in a big 4-2 KalPa win as they tied up their best of five U20 final series at 1-1.

From what I read, Quinnipiac is heavily biased toward seniors and it wasn't likely that Smilanic (not being a senior) would be getting enough ice time to further his development as much as he would like. What I found interesting was that usually when you transfer schools, you have to red shirt, meaning you can't play the following year. That isn't the case with Smilanic (or what would be the point?). Some loophole or likewise.

That used to be the rule but it changed within the past couple of years. Athletes are now entitled to a one time exemption for school transfers. A second transfer would be subject to the redshirt sit-out year.

Final Four matchup set for all the marbles. Stapley had the first goal in a thrilling 3-2 OT win over powerhouse Michigan. Pitlick (Rhett) is done as Minn State smoke Minnesota 5-1. Final is on Saturday streamed by TSN app again.

Roy scored his 40th, had his 60th assist and hit the century mark in points. First in the Q this season.

Kapanen had two assists as KalPa U20 won to go up 2-1 in the best of five finals.

Kidney had an assist. So did Sobolev. Myšák added his 32 goal on the season.

For a ninth time in history, Denver won the Frozen Four and national championships. That ties them with Michigan for tops overall. Stapley finishes his college career with a goal in the 5-1 win. Will they sign him or not?

In Finland, Kapanen had an assist, but they lost 4-2. The best of five finals are all even at two apiece. Winner takes all next game.

In Sweden, Olofsson scored they tying goal that sent the game to OT. Björklöven won 2-1 to even their semi up at one game apiece.

In Finland, Kapanen’s season is over until the WJC in the summer.

Norlinder with two assists as Frölunda won its opening match of the SHL semis. He is heating it up in the post season as he has four points in five playoff games so far.

Olofsson added a goal in a losing cause, as Björklöven is now tied up at two games apiece in the Allsvenskan semis.

A big weekend for Simoneau who is back from injury. His four points last night made it six points on a pair of weekend games.

Myšák had a pair of helpers in a Bulldogs blowout win.

Norlinder had another assist, but Frölunda lost 4-2 and their semi is now tied up 1-1.

Norlinder with his sixth assist in seven playoff games this season. Frölunda is down 2-1 in the SHL semis.

Olofsson with two goals, including the GWG as Björklöven even up their Allsvenskan semis 3-3.

Roy, Simoneau and Trudeau all had assists in their games. Playoffs around the corner for the CHL kids.

Guhle returned to the lineup last night as the Oul Kings opened their playoffs against Lethbridge. The big man had a primary PP assist in the 4-1 win, and it was the WHL highlight of the night.

The Bulldogs also opened their playoffs with a win, 5-2. Another big man, Xhekaj, scored the game’s first goal on the PP.

Vrbetic opened his playoff run in style. He had 26 saves in a 4-1 win, was the second star and also added an assist.

Sobolev was pointless in his first playoff action, but Windsor did win 3-0.

The QMJHL playoffs don’t start until May (last games are on May 1 as the league did shut down for a month and has some games to catch up on versus the other two leagues).

Roy scored his 44th, trailing Dufour by only one point in the scoring race. Sherbrooke lost 3-2 in a shootout to Acadie-Bathurst with Kidney assisting on both regulation time goals.

#12 with the nice primary assist here.

In Europe, Dichow played well in a friendly against Sweden but lost in a shootout.

Olofsson had a pair of assists as Björklöven won convincingly 8-3 to take their semi final series 4-3 and book their spot in the Allsvenskan finals.

Norlinder with no points and Frölunda are down 3-1 in their SHL semis and in the brink of elimination.

The Titan lost 4-3 today, but Kidney had a goal and two assists in the third as the team came up a bit short in a comeback. 98 points now.
